Reviews
This game has SO much potential. But as others said, the lead developer left then they rushed to 1.0 leaving out a bunch of features they promised to add.
This game is seriously underrated. I do not understand how it’s getting bad reviews at all. Techtonica is one of the most enjoyable and well-designed automation games I’ve played. The factory building feels smooth and logical. Conveyors, machines, and layouts snap together cleanly, so designing efficient systems is satisfying instead of frustrating. Progression is steady and meaningful, and each unlock actually changes how you play rather than just adding filler. Exploration, mining, and base expansion blend naturally with automation, which keeps the gameplay from feeling repetitive. IGNORE THE NEGETIVE REVIEWS, DEVELOPERS ----- YALL ARE DOING GREAT, GAME IS PERFECT Performance is solid even with large builds, controls are responsive, and the underground world gives it a unique atmosphere compared to other factory games. Troubleshooting production lines and optimizing layouts is genuinely fun. Honestly, I don’t get the negative reviews. The game is amazing and fun from start to finish. If you like automation or factory builders at all, this is an easy recommendation.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

i like this game quite a bit to the point i have it both on my pc and my xbox and would truly enjoy if the devs would start updating the game again as i feel like the put so many elements that arent finished and in my opinion you shouldnt stop developing a game just because you arent seeing the profit that you want you should keep improving the game and as it builds traction and more people buy it thanks to their friend and the games exposure your profit will increse
No crossplay. Why??

Despite a rather buggy and unfinished ending to the game, I really enjoyed playing it. The loop is very satisfying. I understand why there are so many negative reviews, but I really enjoyed it.
If your burned out on Satisfactory this is a great alternative. It IMO was better in early access than the final product. If the devs just made some minor tweaks, the end game could be a good bit better, but the devs are gone, so it is what it is. If you can get it cheap, i'd say totally worth it, just keep expectations low for the end game, and look to mods to overcome some of the poor 'sand' decisions you will run into.

Techtonica is a great factory builder with a really satisfying mix of automation and exploration. Even with a few rough spots near the end, the journey getting there is absolutely worth it. I played through the full progression path, scanned fragments, unlocked most tech tiers, rebuilt my base multiple times for throughput, and pushed into the sand biome around the 40-hour mark while going for near-100% completion. The early and mid game are where this game really shines. The core loop feels great: - explore caves and scan terminals/relics - unlock new tech - redesign drills, smelters, and assemblers - optimize belts and power in tight underground spaces There’s always a reason to rebuild instead of just copy-pasting lines, which keeps progression fresh. What sets it apart from other factory games is complexity control. Production chains get deep, but individual recipes stay manageable, so you’re solving interesting logistics problems without turning everything into spaghetti. It’s thoughtful, compact, and easy to read at scale. The only dip for me was late game. The sand biome felt grindier and less smooth performance-wise. That said, you can finish the story without fully committing to that content. I only went there because I like squeezing every system dry. If you enjoy factory/automation games and want something exploration-driven and more focused than the usual mega-factory sprawl, this is an easy recommendation. I got 40+ great hours out of it before even thinking about stopping.
