I actually quite like this game and the idea behind it! I don't think it's quite where it should be yet, but it did just come out in early access, so I won't throw a fit over growing pains. What matters is whether or not it's fun to play, and generally speaking, it is. I do hope this game isn't too difficult to mod, because I see potential there. One of my biggest annoyances by far is the timer after battles. I just think it's annoying and serves no real purpose. That means it should go, as I see it. That timer just screws over new players who are trying to read the reward descriptions, and only serves to make others run around in a frenzy trying to make sure they got everything. In a similar vein, I think the way optional objectives are handled is rather obnoxious. Making sure you do all the optional stuff before accidentally ending the battle because your build is good, or because you are good, is tedious in my opinion. You never want the optimal way to play to feel bad. I would argue that is one of the most important principles in game design. I look forward to seeing this game's progress. I think Bri has good design on a fundamental level-- she has a tool for everything, and rewards skill in a way I think is good, if slightly overtuned. I just hope that the devs pay keen attention to games like Hades or Path of Achra to understand what differentiates good build mechanics from amazing ones. Oh, one last thing: buy this on sale if you can help it. I do think 25 bucks is a bit steep for where the game is currently at.
I have not had an opportunity to play multiplayer, so this is solo only. The game is good, but it is definitely early access. The biggest complaint I have is optimization. It uses 100% of my GPU despite exceeding the recommended specs and even then, its pretty choppy at times. When it says recommended 16gb of memory, it really wants to use all 100% of that. I cant tell if the actual game mechanics are broken, or if its because of this lag, but the block and parry mechanics do not seem to align with the indicators OR enemy swings. Sometimes they can just hit you out of range, and especially in the arena, they are just invisible in the soup of soldiers on the battlefield. This is probably a skill issue, so I am not going to go too hard on the game here, but it definitely needs some work because it is simply un-winnable from a fun perspective. I am sure if I grinded the tough parts enough, I would eventually get it, but the "fun" appeal fades insanely fast with these extremely simple mechanics not "feeling" right. Sometimes he blocks, sometimes he doesn't. Maybe I am missing a directionality mechanic, but its not consistent. Gameplay issues aside, let's talk about price. I definitely do not think the game is worth $25 in its current state. Polished, with more content, absolutely. Right now? Its worth $15 and not a penny more. For poor optimization and solo play, I have to say this is not recommended. It may be early access, and only one month in at that, but after looking at the roadmap, I don't think these problems will be fixed, so thumbs down until it actually plays well. Side Note: The game has a really hard time closing, so if you are testing it in the 2hr steam window, be sure to actually stop it from running because closing the game is not enough. I don't know if this is intentional on the devs part or not, but it should be noted.
A very enjoyable rogue-lite with many variations of combat to enjoy. I've played through all base game content, and am now climbing the difficulty modifiers for the hardest challenges. The game starts you off on a nice comfortable pace on your battle through the land. The difficulty itself ramps up according to how you wish to play your runs, either slowly or drastically. It has multiple builds and a planned/fleshed out road for future content with unlockable characters and some more we don't quite know about yet. But it's a great single or up to 4 player co-op game to hack and slash your way through anything that stands in your way.
Schönes Spiel
Для кратковременных сессий позалипать на стимдек или другой портативке - вполне годно, после часа игры становится душновато и однообразно.
I grew up playing old Dynasty Warriors games so I Iove seeing different takes on it. It feels so good to mow down waves of enemies in this European setting. There is a bit of jank locking on to captains and the movement, but I'm liking the content so far. Looking forward to he progress to 1.0!
