Sorry but if you dont like this game, you just suck. Its amazing. Think of bloodborne nothing but doge doge and if you cant, dont play, but either way. I love this game
godbreakers found the right way to cut its own balls off at every turn. dash strikes never work in any game, they're always wildly imprecise and downright worse than other options your godbreaker - a mechanic that is apparently SO GOOD IT'S THE GAME'S NAMESAKE is a single use execute on an enemy with a bee's ♥♥♥♥ of health left, that can only be used for a bee's ♥♥♥♥ of time. You wait too long, you lose your chance. if you DO get the execute off, your reward is ONE use of a SINGLE ability that barely does anything. Might kill one add or two. Starting this game up I had to turn the dialog all the way down. I hear voices accosting me for things I didn't do, I start feeling like that guy that turned up at the protest - that guy that called himself Hugh Mungus. 'perk' drops don't feel good either, I feel like they should also be like abyssus - one after every combat arena, but i don't have the tables in front of me
Is it a bad game? No, not really. Is it good enough? Sadly no. The devs clearly thought that cosmetics were more important than actual unlocks. There are almost no meta progression upgrades and the ones that are there are minor stats and such. Unlocking new in game equipment is barebly existent. Dash strike is TERRIBLE to work with as it never targets the enemy you are actually fighting (looking towards) but towards where you dashed and charge attacks do less damage after taking 20 enemy hits during the charge since a lot of enemies have no windup than just spamming non-charged heavy or light attacks. The in game stats are not well designed as it's mostly random and bosses seem to not really give anything better than normal mobs. Combat is nice, but sadly the devs choose challenge modes and cosmetics than the bare bones of the game itself.
Yeah Hades is cool, but what if I told you there was a similar enough game like it but third person? A lot of fun, quick responsive dodging to satisfy any souls gamers, cool abilities/weapons and build potential, and progressions to make the game more challenging if needed. I'd love to see more content for this game and more from this developer.
I went into God Breakers hoping for a solid experience with RPG elements, but I was completely disappointed by how it handles progression. To be fair, the combat system is genuinely great—it feels fluid and responsive. Unfortunately, that is the game's only redeeming quality. Instead of building your character over time, the game plays like an unforgiving arcade simulator. Whenever you die, all your progression is wiped and you are reset back to the world. You are essentially forced to play through the entire game in a single run without making a mistake. There are little to no RPG elements to make your time investment feel rewarded. If you are looking for a brutal permadeath arcade game, you might like this. But if you want any sense of permanent progression or RPG mechanics, skip it. The combat alone isn't enough to carry the experience. Option 2: Detailed Breakdown (Best for Reddit, Metacritic, or a Blog) The Good: The Combat System: I have to give credit where it's due—the combat is fantastic. It’s well-designed, engaging, and genuinely fun to play. If the rest of the game were built around this combat differently, it would be a hit. The Bad: Zero Meaningful Progression: This was the dealbreaker for me. Any progress you make gets entirely reset upon death, sending you right back to the world. Forced Arcade Mechanics: Rather than a modern RPG, it operates like a coin-op arcade simulator. The game demands that you play through the entire campaign perfectly without dying. Missing RPG Elements: I picked this up expecting RPG mechanics, but they are virtually non-existent. There is no permanent character building or satisfying stat progression to keep you motivated after a loss.
This game is super fun and has interesting bosses and the levels look really well thought out. I get Risk of Rain 2 vibes from it, which is awesome. Great game! I hope they add more or make a 2nd! Ignore the haters in the reviews. They aren't gamers.
you should godbreak yourself
Hmm... i like games that allow you to just 1 vs everyone. and this is one of them. I love this game. The end is kinda unfair... not gonna lie, but if you have 15 sprinter, you can just run... a lot. i recommend that.
This game is ass cheeks.
