I don't think it's a bad game, I just feel it's priced too high for what it is. The combat feels fun at first but the combat turns into the light, light, heavy combo 95% of the time. The upgrades didn't make me feel much more powerful than when you start. Enemies having guard braking attacks and an instant follow up attack is just an unavoidable drain on health. Archers not cancelling their attacks when you knock them out of the animation seems lazy. It should be half the price for what you get.
Tears of Metal
This game has a ton of personality. Pros:

Unique art style that immediately stands out from other roguelites.
Runs incredibly well—even when the battlefield is packed with enemies.
Fairly priced for what's currently on offer.
Combat feels impactful with the combos.
Cons:

Like many roguelites, the gameplay loop starts feeling repetitive after enough runs.
Being in Early Access, content is still fairly limited.
Bosses feel like damage sponges. Even when you execute your rotations correctly and avoid mechanics, fights can drag on for 10+ minutes.
Long boss fights start feeling like endurance tests rather than exciting encounters.
Summary: There's a really solid foundation here. The visuals are memorable, performance is excellent, and the combat has that satisfying "one more run" feeling every good roguelite should have. The biggest thing I'd love to see changed is boss health. Winning because you mastered the fight feels great—winning because you spent ten minutes slowly chipping away at an oversized health bar doesn't. Trim those fights down a bit.

A mid campaign save would be appreciated. Finally beat the fat guy after 3 attempts, fealing ready for a break, my dad needs the screen BUT A WHOLE NEW MAP APPEARS and i cant save.
Let me make one things clear: The game IS fun, and worth your time. It has uniqueness that should be praised, and I can see the makings of a great game in it. However, its currently VERY lacking in a few fundamental ways that means I can't give it a positive review just yet. Positives: -The aesthetics are fantastic and I want the art team to be my new parents. 10/10, no notes. -The Allied Commands system is very unique (to me at least) and I'm really enjoying the skill ceiling involved with weaving it into your combos. -Ruadh has very impactful hits that make you feel like a boss. Negatives: -Despite the allies being such a huge part of the game, it feels like they have no impact whatsoever. Here is my biggest gripe for the game as it stands: You are not playing an army battling simulator, you are playing a "hit the big guy while worthless npc's stand around you" simulator. There is literally no benefit to targeting the minor enemies in battle 9 times out of 10. All you have to do is rush down the large units and then move on. It feels like a complete waste to have all these aoe attacks when I can quite literally walk past the entire horde, smoke one single dude, and that captures the entire area. I would have much preferred it if you had to kill a mix of big and small targets to capture an area. Additionally, your ally npc's are not nearly aggressive or damaging enough to be worthy of note. This is by far the weakest part of the game when it could easily have been the strongest. -Upgrade items vary wildly in quality. The item that heals you after every battle, and the one that makes enemies explode on death are invaluable, while the rest are just mostly just impactless stat boosters. I would really like the items to be fewer, but more game changing. -The clan boons are very imbalanced. Considering that the game is just "run up and kill the big guy" it completely invalidates the clans who focus on AOE damage. Furthermore, I wished there was more synergy between picking multiple clans. Most of the buff are just "make this one move stronger and apply a unique status effect". Its very flat. and a bit of a letdown since I just finished Sworn, which is all about build synergy. -The escalating threat level is a neat idea, theoretically forcing you to balance getting lots of buffs vs making the enemies stronger, but I rarely felt like it came up. I usually just took a normal route to the boss, and anything more than that felt like pointless dithering. -Last but not least, there are a lot of issues with visual clarity and hitstun inconsistencies. The indicator for when an enemy is about to attack can get easily lost behind visual effects once you get boons on every attack, and it can be very hard to tell what attack will stagger the enemy vs what they will hyper armor though, leading to me getting hit a LOT by attacks I thought I was safe from. Listen, I know I'm being very negative here, but that just because I do like the game at its core, and I sincerely hope that airing my gripes will help inform the creators as to what can potentially be adjusted while the game is still in early access. I'm going to follow the updates as they come out and will HAPILY delete this review the millisecond that it becomes invalidated. All the best to ye good developers. FOR SCOTLAND!
Fast paced roguelite where you slash through armies of invaders. Has a responsive control system and brings a ton of fun when you get good at a hero. Battles can get really hectic on high-threat ascension runs. Good music, interesting visuals and a decent amount of content for a 25$ game. 12 different movesets (of 4-5 different combos) as of right now, one per weapon per hero. Has a satisfying parrying system (failed parry results in a block), stamina for blocking, cooldown on dodge (different per hero) and a nice amount of items to buy/drop. Upgrades come from 7 trees to improve your offense and defense, much like the gods in hades Extra spice comes from having a group of man at arms supporting you, which you can command to a degree, you can also just let them do their thing, though they certainly can make a difference Has tons of fodder, captains which can scale quite high, a bunch of elites and 3 boss fights Surprisingly the bosses are the easiest part of the game after you get going It is different in a very good way Has the ingredients of a great title and it hooked me despite not really being my type of a game Try it out, definitely a thumbs up Only thing i would want, is that there is more of everything added
Yet another game that I want a "meh" review. The game has a lot of potential. Scottish Dynasty warriors is fun with your buddies. For about 2 hours. Then you've basically seen what's there. There are good bones, but this needs a LOT of work, and some really poor design decisions need to be reworked. While smashing around in combat can feel punchy and is fun the first few times, cracks begin to show almost immediately. It's based extremely heavily on dodging and parrying (especially parrying). Unfortunately the visual clutter and sheer amount of things going on make it an unbelievable chore, and just not fun after a while. Combat FORCES you to use combos that require 3 or four timed button presses, and often have long animations that get you hit and/or the combo cancelled. I say forced because if you DON'T use them you do significantly less damage, and when fighting bosses or elites, you are going to need that because they are absolute bullet sponges. Now, all this MIGHT be ok if like a typical roguelite you unlocked upgrades as you prgress through a run. While that does exist here, the system to do so is the worst I've seen in one of these games. EVERYTHING you do to help yourself or your team on a run is tied to "coins". Want a charm? Gotta pay to open a chest. Wanna revive your buddy? Gotta pay coins. Wanna heal? You guessed it .... COINS. Dumb, right? But wait, it gets WORSE! The game is basically ebenezer scrooge. It is so stingy with money it's insane. It got to the point where we weren't even opening chests anymore to only save money for heals and revives. Sometimes though even one heal that almost empties your wallet only heals 10% of your HP. Like, did they even play the game before they released it in EA? You are basically limited to one revive per run right now in co-op, and it will clean your wallet out. Oh, and when you do revive it's with like 25% of your HP. There's an in game upgrade merchant but 90% of the time by the time I get to him, I'm broke. The charms (upgrades) themselves are also almost universally boring. The chests are all RNG so you never know what you're getting. The amount of times I would spend 175 (a lot) to get "moderate block stamina increase" or "+5% coin gain" was incredibly frustrating. In games like Risk of Rain 2 or Hades you get a power up and are psyched. They change the way you play. Here that's almost never the case. At this point I've gotten tons of them and not once was I stoked. Roguelites live and die on their progression system. The one here (to put it simply) is just bad. You can get bettter weapons but they just seem to come with more complicated combos and are actually worse than the starting weapons. While you can get more powerful the damage your troops do is laughably bad, and your character always feels a little gimped. In a year or so this could be something great, but right now it needs a LOT more time in the oven, and in my mind wasn't ready for EA.
A bit stale combat wise, strike-strike-heavy on repeat occasionally dodge-heavy. There is a parry but the window is incredibly small which really sucks on bosses. Your damage is fine for the most part but as soon as you enter the second stage a lot of enemies have a guard meter you have to break so they basically have double HP but your damage has not doubled. Elites in stage 2 and stage 3 just suck to fight generally spamming guard breaks instead of blockable attacks and/or are ranged enemies that shoot homing rockets (and people think the archers are annoying). Your companions and champions do ♥♥♥♥-all damage in the first stage and may as well not exist in the second and third stages. The maps are too big for how damn slow your character is. The danger system makes the game tedious and the difficulty of a run vary drastically from run to run especially if you get the damn beacon spawns because those spawn every 30 seconds or so and buff all enemies or depuff you including removing those useless ally abilities which also resets your meter so have fun never getting to use those abilities anyway. Bosses are not enjoyable. First boss is super easy but is just annoying to fight, it is just a big spongy HP bar really. None of its attacks are blockable when it enters the second phase which it will do after almost no damage because of the stupid danger system with massively buffs bosses if you have the audacity to play the game in anything but the shortest route (no fun allowed, no grinding money to buy things). Second boss refuses to fight you 50% of the time so that's fun and now suddenly bosses have a posture meter? Please remove this not everything needs to be Sekiro, just make it an armor bar ffs. Third boss is suddenly a dark souls boss with an actual second phase, you have to run reeeeealy far just to get to him only for him to ♥♥♥♥ off to the other side of the massive boss room only now he spams AoE attacks that falsely claim to be blockable. Your reward for killing bosses is dragonstone but you get almost none making the entire run feel like a waste of time, take about 20 minutes per stage by the way so you have to be willing to commit an hour at least to finish a run of all 3 stages. Second character is not unlocked just by beating the first boss, you have to go to the correct battlefield afterwards, so it is missable for no reason, I didn't miss it but since I am pointing out all the bad things about this game that is one. Third character requires beating the third stage which is not cool considering that boss is not easy and comes at a point where players may be feeling fatigued after an hour long run only to not get a new character. Just slap it after the second boss. Damage upgrades do not feel meaningful. It can say 20% all it wants but the base damage is so low that is like 2-10 damage and elites have at least 200 with some having over 1000 and bosses have... well way too much frankly. I don't hate the game, I just think it needs way more time to cook. The danger system needs to be a separate mode because the concept is fine but it just increases difficulty for basically no reward thus punishes players for playing the game, it makes no sense for an army to get stronger the more you kick its ass. Movement speed when not fighting needs to be way higher. At the current asking price I expected more, I would spend $5-10 on the game in its current state, not $20.
+Buena musica +Buen combate +matas a ingleses a centenares 10/10
Solo campaign is addictive and fun but it becomes slightly repetitive after a few hours because of the limited move set variety and the upgrades don't change the play style. The progression is also kind of slow when playing solo, multiplayer is way better in all aspects. The main flaw I have seen is that you can't save your run, it should be implemented when playing solo. The game is not finished yet but it is still great, I would recommend it
