Reviews
First and foremost, this game is touted as being "Skyrim", and as someone who's been dying for something to scratch that itch I was hooked at this idea. The similarities are: an open world RPG, skill trees, swords, magic, and monsters, quest structure to an extent although my experiences have been better than standard fetch quests thus far. This is where it kind of ends though. The difficulty is through the roof compared to bog standard Skyrim, the story is heavier, bleaker, the world feels more like an Elden Ring type setting of "the world is collapsing" which does bring with it a greater sense of importance for you as the player - that you can stop this world from ending, or at least take steps to stopping it. Magic is more impactful, combat with melee weapons is not deep and feels very Bethesda (hit it until it dies). Writing is decent, voice acting is actually really good? For a smaller studio this was really a highlight for me so far. I'm 11 hours or so in and quietly confident it'll keep me hooked until the 30-40 hour mark. If I get that much time out of a £15 game then I cannot complain. Outer Worlds satisfied me for a while a few years ago when Fallout went quiet, I'm hoping this will do the same for ES.
Great atmopshere and old skool rpg-action, like a darker Skyrim mixed with Dark Souls.
10/10
Excellent atmosphere, game play, and world. I'm enjoying the story so far and the exploration is quite rewarding.
Heavily influenced by Skyrim and Oblivion. However, it has a soul and still manages to create something different. Combat is a bit clunky at times, but nothing to be scared of. Well written side quests, which was quite the surprise.
