very good
Good
I wanted to like this but.. When i got to the character customization it was lacking from the very start, faces look strange some tattoo's dont line up correctly with the mesh's etc and limited options, i feel like even on ultra settings the graphics look kinda dated/strange and after 40mins i just felt like i didn't want to continue.. some menu's don't react the same as others and I ended up doing things i didn't mean to do.. i found a tunnel in the starting zone wen't through it and then struggled to jump out of it and thought i might be stuck for a minute.. rather than continue i decided to refund before i couldn't anymore..
This game blew me away. The more generic points, combat is good, dodging, parrying, block, stamina management, mana management, weapon variety, spell variety (with effects, though I have not tested that much, fire is better versus some enemies for example, it shows which works well during fights) general play is smooth, the only movement critique I have is jumping feels a tiny bit restrictive in some places and free in others, so a tiny bit inconsistent. Less generic, more 'Why this game?' THE TONE. It's dark, it's sad, it's beautifully done. I normally play games, especially solo games, with videos on the side, I paused it on the MENU. Locked me in with the music. The rewarding feeling of exploring, is encouraged ALL GAME, if you see an interesting path or location in the distance, it was almost always worth exploring in depth. I love this part, and kinda hope if there's ever a sequel it's also toned down a bit, which sounds dumb but I just don't think the game needs it this heavily. The part being, consequences of choices. Actual decisions impacting your game heavily is a good and bad thing, (personal opinion) Without spoiling, my ending for act 1 did disappoint me, because it wasn't what I expected. BUT, the game story is essentially grey area 101, you don't know 100% right from wrong here most times, and I would think about my future decisions often going from point A to B, genuinely running the scenarios like Dr Strange hoping to do what I thought was best. And feeling that engaged is rare. If you want a CATERED experience, a bit less open world, do anything you want, type. And more of a this is a playable movie with impactful choices, story and changeable outcomes, this is easily one of the best I've ever played. Will be back to play through it again, likely multiple times.
A spiritual successor to Enderal more than Skyrim. Played 50+ hours and I'm still in the first area, having a blast. This game has a great atmosphere, intriguing lore and interesting characters. Combat is fun. Progression is meaningful. Highly recommended.
This is a soft "yes" but if you're jonesing for some skyrim it's ok, but it has problems.
Love the game, I'd describe it as a halfway house between Skyrim & Dark Souls. First person driven and featuring all the Combat, Cooking, Smithing & Alchemy of Skyrim (with a sxy new dash you never knew you needed!) with a more grim type of world in line with dark souls. Some enemy types also give "The Witcher" vibes. Skyrim seems more joyful a setting for the NPCs by comparison to Tainted Grail. greatly enjoying the game, 50 hours in and I cant see the ending yet... doing too many sidequests to build the world up :D My advice for anyone who feels like the game feels clunky when they start... -Yo, invest in agility and you will zip and fly smooth like in combat. Trust me, dont sleep on this game.
