TAHIRA struggles to find its footing in the tactical RPG genre. A novel setting and unique narrative doesn't outshine tedious combat, flat characters, weird writing choices, and a deficit of RPG-ness. Check out my full review here! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gpEdhZB4jyM&feature=youtu.be
Don't do it. This had the makings of a different, unique little tactical strategy. The fights were a little samey, but you kind of sign up for that. The real problem is the game set up for a 3 act story, and then just ends after Act 1. No explanation, just over. Even if you can pick this up cheap for $5, it's just not worth the disappointment.
Decently fun gameplay. The story is a bit too cartoonish and there's some tonal conflict between wanting to be serious and wanting to be light and joke-y. The story ends very abruptly. If you're a fan of the genre and don't mind cliffhangers, it's a pretty inoffensive way to pass the time. For myself though, I can't say it was a worthwhile experience.
Nothing wrong with the game BUT the ending. It's a cliffhanger. If it was any other kind of ending i would have gladly given a recommendation. The ending ruined my experience.
The game is good in essence with solid mechanics and interesting start of a story. But it has too many problems: - It's way too short (I finished in 11 h including lengthy dialogues and loading screens) - Loading times are ridiculously long. And you have to start at main menu every time (loading screen to get to it, and another to get into game) and also exit through main menu (again 2 loading screens). - The game saves at weird times (at the start of major combat round), there is no excuse for not being able to save single-player game at any time. - No strong enemies, just cannon fodder. - Battles are scripted, you know exactly where the enemies are gonna pop out during the second try. - Story doesn't end, it doesn't even get anywhere - There is literally 1 choice in the entire game - Guilty of numerous instances of "second HP bar" (Extra enemies appear on battlefield in the middle of battle all the time)
TERRIBLE Played for ten minutes, "played", lol/ I clicked and clicked while a written dialog played out across the bottom of my screen about a person talking to her horse. "concerned whinney" is NOT a freeking video game.
A hidden Gem! This game is similar to Banner Saga with it's turn-based game play and realistically drawn art style. While the fight mechanic itself is not very appealing, the story and effects are very immersive and characters are very interesting, even the bad guy himself is very interesting. PROS: - art style - immersive story - sound effects - interesting characters - interesting battle units CONS: - clunky and long turn-based battles - only 3 types of enemies If you liked Banner Saga, chances are you will like this game which is like it's younger brother! If you like a good story I would recommend it! If you are here for the gameplay, you will probably not like it very much.
It's cute. If you like the combat from Banner Saga, then yeah, you'll enjoy a direct rip off.
I would not recommend this game to others. It had good points, the combat system was fun at times. There is some beautiful animation for the turn based attacks. However I found the story tedious. Its has dialogue in the style of older RPG games, with the character's face in the lower left corner, and text popping up on a scroll next to it you have to click through. Honestly, there is so much of this I got tired of the inane back and forth between the character's that I stopped reading and just keep clicking until it stopped. Most of the conversations were just adolescent rambling and bickering. I stopped caring about the characters and just wanted to get through it.
