nice little game playing with whole family when dad aren't drunk or he will break our vr headset
Really good game. It's pretty fast paced competitive game, so it can be played in short bursts, but don't expect a relaxing experience (the screenshots can make it look like it's turn based, it's no). So far, the pros are : * It looks pretty good and runs extremely well (Using Oculus Link I cranked the resolution up to 5408x2192 to make it look sharp, and I still have plenty of overhead) * Gameplay looks fun (we'll see in a few weeks how well it holds) * Controls are pretty intuitive after a few minutes * There doesn't seem to be any room for pay to win, the only thing you unlock that impacts gameplay are new champions. you can't buy them, you have to unlock them by playing the game and there are only 12 of them. * It's cross play between Quest, Steam and Apple Vision Pro so it should make finding a match easier. The cons : * There's no single player campaign, only a skirmish mode against AI, but that's really more for practice than a full game. If you're not interested in multiplayer this is probably not for you. Also if it doesn't build a good playerbase there won't be much to do ingame. * That's really all I have so far !
disclaimer; i played through the tutorial and 2 bot matches prior to review and did not unlock any new characters i see the vision. i love the vibes. i love the funny little rodents. it just doesn't feel good to control in battle. there's this pointer situation that feels like it kinda goes where it wants sometimes, which is. suboptimal for a moba/rts kind of situation. i also found it interesting that the store page talks about this whole "make your own squad from our Colorful Cast of 12 Little Guys" and then doesn't let you select 9 of them when you start. like, at LEAST give me like one guy to swap out at the start. (i am known for having strong opinions on this kind of progression in general so hey if this doesn't sound problematic go for it) again i love the concept here, i really wish it felt better to control and that you had a LITTLE more choice in your squad at the beginning
I think this is an awesome VR game to play with a friend/friend group. It's not expensive and has a good bit of gameplay to enjoy. It's purely pvp, with bots to face against if thats what you choose. I think you should unlock characters quicker, tutorial matches and two matches against my buddy should unlock at least ONE character to switch out... All in all though, very fun and I want to keep playing. One note, you'll need to find a way to rebind some mappings if you're using valve controllers. The movement is based on the gripping of the controller, which does not feel good in fast paced actions using the trigger. Some clunky-ness if you choose to continue playing this way. My buddy on the oculus said it was incredibly smooth and responsive. I would really appreciate a defaulted valve control selection! Edit- Please add proper valve controller support... Grips controlling player movement make for constant accidental movement and other quirky interactions that become irritating very fast. Removing grips and creating a chord in steams controller rebind did not fix the issue, making the game incredibly frustrating to play on the index. Will change back if support is added or remapping of controls is properly added
When I first downloaded the game, I thought I would easily give it a 10 out of 10. But after spending some hours playing, I realized a few things. First, the game feels dead. You either play against bots or what seems like the developers themselves. Second, the game is boring. After about 20 hours, I reached Top 6 in the world ranking… or so I thought. Turns out the developers tricked players here too. There isn’t actually a single global ranking — each player seems to have their own version of the leaderboard. So it’s impossible to know how many other people are also sitting at “6th place” in the Top 10. I even tried participating in their tournament. It honestly felt like they picked random people off the street to organize it. They don’t even know what a BO3 (Best of 3) format is. Match dates are announced just a couple of hours before they start. And when I checked who made it to the finals (spoiler: it’s either admins or the developers themselves). So whether you buy the game or not — that’s up to you.
Polyarc continues to make my favorite VR Games, and Glassbreakers is no exception so far :> I've been loving it. It takes the world of Moss and has made it into an amazing Moba that feels and controls incredibly intuitively with a surprising amount of depth once you get into the finer details of the game. Given Moss has you controlling a lil mouse and you're actively peering down into their world, controlling them like lil figurines like in this Moba feels like a very natural shift in terms of genre! Also, if you want to go through the Moss series, this game doesn't really spoil anything besides having a few side characters that show up in Book II. In terms of progression, it's really natural. There's no pay to win aspects, the more you play, the more you unlock champions and skins, and with those new champions, you continue to play them to unlock more champions, and just.. It's got a really nice flow going for it :) I'm crossing my fingers in hopes of more characters eventually showing up because I adore the cast we have so far.
Glassbreakers: Champions of Moss demonstrates Polyarc's desire to expand the Moss universe beyond the confines of a traditional storybook adventure. Developed and published by Polyarc, the game reimagines the enchanting world of tiny woodland heroes as the backdrop for a competitive virtual reality experience. Instead of following Quill on another heartfelt quest, players are placed above a miniature battlefield where strategy, positioning, and teamwork determine the outcome. The result is an unusual blend of tabletop gaming, arena combat, and VR immersion that immediately distinguishes itself from many other multiplayer titles on Steam. The game's premise revolves around assembling a trio of Champions and leading them into fast-paced matches centered on destroying the enemy's Glass Stronghold. Every Champion fulfills a unique role, whether serving as a durable front-line defender, a swift damage dealer, or a support specialist capable of changing the momentum of battle. This variety encourages experimentation, as players can create combinations that suit aggressive tactics, defensive playstyles, or balanced approaches. The strategic layer is deeper than it initially appears, with map awareness and timely use of abilities proving just as important as raw reflexes. Matches are intentionally compact, ensuring that victories feel rewarding without demanding an excessive time commitment. One of the most impressive aspects of Glassbreakers is its use of virtual reality. Rather than simply placing players inside a battlefield, Polyarc presents combat as if it were unfolding on a living tabletop. Looking down at the action creates a sense of ownership over every engagement, while the detailed animations of each Champion reinforce the charm that made Moss memorable. The environments retain the handcrafted aesthetic associated with the franchise, giving battles a whimsical atmosphere despite their competitive nature. Watching miniature heroes clash beneath your hands is a surprisingly effective use of VR technology and serves as the game's strongest selling point. The title also benefits from its connection to the broader Moss lore. While it does not feature a traditional narrative campaign, the game subtly explores an earlier period in the world's history through its cast of Champions and battlefield settings. Fans of the series will appreciate seeing familiar artistic themes carried over into a new genre, even if the storytelling takes a back seat. At the same time, newcomers can jump in without prior knowledge of Moss and still enjoy the experience, as the focus remains firmly on multiplayer competition and tactical gameplay. However, Glassbreakers: Champions of Moss is not a game that will appeal to everyone. Players expecting another emotionally driven adventure may be disappointed by the emphasis on online matches and replayability. The experience is also dependent on maintaining an active player base, a challenge faced by many multiplayer VR titles. Additionally, mastering the controls and understanding the strengths of each Champion requires patience, particularly for those unfamiliar with strategy games in virtual reality. Despite these limitations, the title succeeds in carving out its own identity and offers something genuinely different in an increasingly crowded market. Glassbreakers: Champions of Moss is ultimately a successful experiment that proves the Moss universe has room to grow in unexpected directions. It combines strategic depth, distinctive VR presentation, and a charming visual identity into an experience that feels both familiar and fresh. While it may not surpass the narrative impact of Polyarc's previous works, it stands as an entertaining and thoughtfully designed multiplayer title that showcases the potential of virtual reality gaming. Rating: 6/10
This game Is a blast, lots of fun, quick exciting games, that are always unique. I am having fun doing the ranked battles, and enjoying it. I would mention the maps are somewhat limited, but there are a few, I expect this will grow, so far I've also enjoyed unlocking things, and in general the current game is a lot of fun! it's like an interactive board game, but simplified.
Ignore the playtime. I got this game on Quest before Steam, but I have played on both platforms. VR badly needs more games that are MOBA adjacent, so this is a breath of fresh air. For fans of the two Moss games, getting to dive back into the world with a (mostly) new cast of characters and gameplay style has been fantastic. The game has three AI bot levels to learn how to play the game well, individual mastery tracks for each fighter to unlock cosmetics (and other fighters), multiple arenas with different maps, and quick (matches are less than 15mins, overtime included) matches for those who only have a limited time to boot up and run some games. I got the game for free due to playing in the open beta 2 years ago and I can say the game is VASTLY improved from that early version. An easy recommendation if you're looking for a different type of multiplayer game. The devs say this game was inspired in part by Hero Academy and you can see the influences in so many places.
