Classic Rogue-like dungeon adventure. Very playable after all these years.
Great early computer gaming traditional rogue-like fun.
All hail, Jeff McCord and his greatness!
i last played this on the commodore 64 nice to play again
What can be said about this fantastic game? The game of the Sword of Far Goal! I wish I had a save option in the 80s! Great game. Simple. Very enjoyable. I still have not yet completed it. But I will keep trying!
One of the landmark classics of retro gaming. NUFF SAID...
Best two bucks I ever spent!
Classic game! Waiting to heal up in real time gives me time to organise my emails!
Still play this game on my Vic-20! Best game ever! Just wish I could get the v-20 version on steam or even the pet version (If wiki is right) never seen the pet version before.
I played this back in the day on the C64 and also the remakes on iOS and (separately) Windows, and I can say this is a good port. It is essentially an emulated version of the C64 original and all that that entails. So no prettier graphics like the other versions, and like the C64 version, it loads quite slowly (~1 minute). The core gameplay is still great: procedurally generated levels with a strange combination of turn-based and real time movement. The clock is always silently beating in steps, and you and all the beasties can either move or not. So, whether you move or not, the beasties can move as well. You can heal if you sit still for a few cycles, but it's a calculated risk--what if something finds you? It's an addictive formula. Although the graphics are original (not pretty), the menu allows for saving/loading, a few gameplay tweaks, and cloud saves. I would give this a 70% if I had to score it. Very competent port, very cheap, although other versions are better.
