Stronghold 3 Gold

I don't know what everyone's problem with this game is. It's a little unstable, but you gotta expect that from a 2011 title. Save often.

I bought this game when it came out and had some fun with it, but in reality it is significantly worse that any of its predecessors. And probably significantly worse than any of its successors too. The worst part is how fiddly building can be, particularly with walls that never seem to be on suitable ground to build Still you can have fun with it... if it works. This game was a buggy mess on launch and crashed constantly even back then. Now, in 2026, this tendency has only got worse. Which, alongside some oddly long loading times can make playing it somewhat hellish. Unless Firefly decide to patch it up somewhat, I would say avoid buying this unless you have played every other single Stronghold game and just are that desperate for that fix.

For fans of the series and easy going players, Stronghold 3 offers the developed, authentic, castle building system it always has. What this game lacks is fresh ideas, and anyone who knows the genre well will be able to pick out their favorite buildings, units, etc. However, the best of Stronghold is kept alive in this episode, and the enthusiasts will find something to like in a very familiar setting. The ongoing story should keep players interested, although small old technical bugs may rear their heads from time to time. A little more time and polish would have made Stronghold 3 a better entry, but bascially, the appeal of the franchise is still strong, if only in free build mode and seige mode. Destroying castle walls and buildings is more fun, as the physics of their destruction has been improved. Just don't expect more than what was possible with the very first Stronghold game.

*Sigh* They really tried hard to make it NOT fun....

Das Spiel ist aktuell leider nicht mehr Spielbar - weder lässt sich die UI auf Aktuelle Monitore anpassen noch könnte man das Spiel auf einem 2ten "kleineren" Monitor öffnen. Einzig wenn du einen HD only Monitor hast könnte es ggf klappen. Des weiteren Schließt sich das Spiel oft unkontrolliert oder ist nach dem Laden eines Speicherstandes total verbuggt.
