Cons: - Where the hell am I? what is this map? - Too many framedrops. - Where the hell am I? what is this map? - Not optimized to an absurd degree. - Where the hell am I? what is this map? - Where the hell am I? what is this map? Pros: + Souls-like with an actual pause button. + Progression is very good. + Combat is very good. + Can choose difficulty and advanturer 2/4 is very balanced (Final boss too impossible. need to fix) + There is a story, that is skipable. Conclusion: Not good enough to recommand, the most annoying thing is that you have always trouble to tell what the objective is or where it is. The "not knowing where to go" is a huge downside, to the point I really hated playing this.
Thumbs up, but on a sale. This game grew on me, a lot, between finishing most of the story and clearing up all the achievements before finishing the final section.
Positives:
When there aren't any bugs or glitches (it does happen occasionally), it plays pretty smooth with a little bit of clearly janky hitboxes. The world looks acceptable, it's about your average mid budget game world, nothing that really stands out, but it's not bad either. The bosses are ok, but not that difficult, for the most part they are on the easier side of souls-like bosses. I have found the sidekick character, Boji, to be acceptable, he isn't annoying, Farren, the main character however, that is a different story. The interactions between Boji and Farren can be rather sweet at times, but the quality of the writing is so inconsistent. The exploration is good, it's probably the best designed part of the entire game, there are a lot of little hidden secrets around and they are all useful.
Negatives:
The main character, Farren is the most annoying, insufferable character I've seen in a game for a long time. It ranges from pointing at things in the world constantly instead of letting you explore for yourself to feeling like he/she is someone's personal trauma dump. This character alone is everything wrong with storytelling in modern games in one single character. Just make your protagonist silent instead, it's at least better than making them come across as obnoxious and annoying. Weird bugs, I've had so many of the execution animations glitch out and have either me or the enemy float high up in the air while I'm attacking an invisible target in the little cutscene. The item tooltip constantly remains on the screen after doing any inventory management, forcing you to open and close the inventory an extra time just to make it go away. There are so many times where the ground collision is just off and you get stuck on things for no reason. There is no build crafting what so ever in this game. You will just unlock everything over time, the only real choice you have is what type of weapon you run, except not even that really, you are forced to master all of them just to unlock the skill points, so you will spend a whole lot of time playing with weapons you don't want to use, huge L design.
Conclusion:
It isn't perfect, and some things are actually a bit broken, but none of those things are game breaking bugs that I have found so far. When I'm done collecting all the achievements, I'm sure I've found more, it just feels like it based on my experience so far. The story and the main character just get in the way constantly and I would have given a lot more of a favorable review if neither were a thing and it was a silent and atmospheric adventure instead. I do enjoy a well told story and well written characters, but this ain't it chief. Buy it on sale if you want to play it. Just don't expect perfection. There are a lot of flaws, but none that would put me off from recommending it.
I liked the graphical style and world design. Lots of exploration with complex maps that sometimes had me lost and going in circles. Combat is ok but gets a bit repetative as there are not enough enemy types. No cloud saves so transfering saves back and forth from my 2 PCs was annoying.
Great little game! brought back the old school feels. It's a small game, but well polished! Totally stable with no bugs for me at all. The only downside is that it seems to be made for controllers because there's just way too many controls. Also, it's not reactionary, but timing based. Still, easy to work around. 28hours for all acheivements including DLC
Note personnelle : 7/10.
I don´t know where to start, it´s kinda messed up. The visuals are nice, reminds of World of Warcraft. The world is beautiful crafted, and easily to get lost, sometimes literally. Certain events causes changes in certain areas, like a fort been built up by one of the factions, which can create lots of confusions if you´ve been here before or not. But it´s something you can get used to. But things i never got used to, the kinda horrible combat, thanks to the delayed, sometimes unresponsive combat controls, the horrible hit-reg and hitboxes. You visually hit an enemy, but it doesn´t get registered as one. The other way around, enemy attack misses you, but still get the full damage. And then there are a few weapons that have such a slow attack speed (though they hit like a truck), that are kinda useless against the majority of enemies. Thankfully they added a Story mode, i had to switch to after a few hours of clunkiness. Another annoyance, your companion. Not himself is the problem, but i don´t understand why the dialog between him and the player char are just happening while you move around, no you have to watch some sort of cutscene.

5/10 this game is so incredibly mid i'd say get it overall if its ever under 10$ but it is not a good game. combat is not good, maybe cause i'm on deck, but the enemy attack patterns are actually atrocious, just plain ugly, and also really easy on the normal difficulty. The higher difficulties change numbers but nothing can change the enemy animations just being really easy to avoid after you learn them. I think the poise system is ridiculous and I might try to raise the enemy damage/health and get rid of the poise to make it more like an actual souls like. weak minion enemies should get staggered out of a light attack if this were a souls like (it is not). Frame rate drops to 10 in certain large areas, even with minimal render distance settings and lowest graphics. Story feels like sly cooper if it was less edgy for some reason, probably boji, idk i skip every dialogue. the open world map is too big for a souls game, they very much failed the elden ring formula. The progression system is uninvolved; there are no builds to create you just get access to everything. It is just so mid. I feel like kingdoms of amalur is a good comparison in terms of unseriousness but that game has a better story and stronger combat. Idk if i can even finish this one but if you want an easy, pseudo souls like with a focus on story instead of combat get it on sale.
Terrible optimization
