Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

I would recommend this game to other players since it has a fast-paced battle mechanic that makes the game fun to play. I also liked the job system employed in this version of Final Fantasy, and thought it was perfect. In addition, the various abilities / effects you acquire from establishing a certain amount of affinities is a fantastic feature. Finally, another great feature in this game is that players can customize their equipment at the black smith by upgrading effects, changing effects, upgrading affinities, etc. This gives the player a lot of freedom in regards to character customization, and makes the game fun to play. I think the battle mechanic, job system, and equipment affinity should be a feature that is a staple to all Final Fantasy games. What I did not like about this game is the fact that all equipment you obtain in this game were completely randomized. I believe it would be far better if the player had more control over where and when they obtain their equipment (such as buying it from markets, or forging it at the black smith). Another thing I did not like about this game is the fact that the amount of MP you recover from a successful soul shield is dependent upon the stat comparison between your character and the various monsters you battle. I think the soul shield concept would be far better if it were independent of the stat comparison between your character and the monsters you battle. More specifically, the soul shield concept would be far better if it were only dependent upon the damage your opponent would have inflicted if their attacks landed, and whether or not you had any beneficial equipment effects that enhance how much MP you recover from a successful soul shield. Had it not been for the random nature in which you obtain the equipment, I believe this game would have been unquestionably fantastic. Overall, I would recommend this game to other players, but be ready for a long grind.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 25: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.89/day in the week to Aug 4 → 3/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

i did it my way

Great video game
.
As someone who knows very little about the FF franchise, this game was fun. From my research, this is a loose prequel to the original Final Fantasy and after playing this, I actually want to go back and play the older games
I really like this game - it feels like Final Fantasy's attempt at a souls-like game. I enjoyed the protagonist, the music and the story. If you see this game on sale, I'd say it's worth giving it a try. If you've played Final Fantasy 1, you'll enjoy the story of this game even more. More details on my thoughts of this game below
What I like
First of all, arguably the most important aspect, the gameplay itself. Without getting into too much detail, you can string together basic combo attacks along with special abilities to take on foes. There are tons of special abilities which you can choose from, most will do a lot of damage in some way to your enemy, and some may buff you or cast a spell. This made the combat enjoyable and ever-changing and evolving as i unlocked more classes and levelled up further, it was pretty fun. They also have a break system where, if you break an enemies guard before they die, you can then perform a finishing move animation, which usually involves jack partaking in extreme violence to utterly annihilate the enemy. it's really awesome to see, and satisfying too Each area you play through is it's own individual mission, meaning once you finish one area, you go back to a menu where you can then start the next one. Each mission itself is a call-back to a previous final fantasy game, so I think it's really cool to play through each area and recognise which final fantasy game each is from. It also has 35 classes that you can play and unlock which gives you plenty of choices to pick from when taking on a boss or clearing an area. They're also just in general pretty fun to level up and experiment to find out what class does what. All of these classes don't take too long to level, but they do require some unlocking first to be able to play as them. Our protagonist, Jack really sold the game for me personally. I think he makes a really enjoyable character to play as. he feels mighty and powerful, and his voice lines, dialogue and general behaviour throughout the story really makes him feel special and unique when compared to other protagonists. The music does a good job at supporting this feeling throughout the gameplay, making it sound like you're playing as some never-before seen unstoppable force. I also enjoyed the story. While far from perfect, I think it's really interesting, and I very much enjoyed how it tied in with the story of Final Fantasy 1. It's got themes of power, delusion and righteousness which does a great job at exploring Jack as a character and making you question him and his determination.
Criticisms
To begin with, the dialogue feels trashy and generic when listening to the conversations between party members in game. If you've played an RPG with voiced combat dialogue before, you probably know what I'm getting at. They state the obvious, sound terrible and stupid, and they spell out the obvious, just in-case you're unable to think for yourself. As well as preventing you from using intuition, it also just in general feels really disjointed, like it doesn't really fit the world or match what's going on. I believe it's partly explained by the story
the crystals removing characters memories
, but I still think it could've been done much better, The start of the game felt to me like it did a bit of a bad job at selling the game. Going through the first area, I felt like it was going in the direction of getting refunded. maybe it's just me, but I felt it could've done better. The story also for the first third or so of the game, while interesting, again suffers from that weird disjointedness I mentioned before. It feels like the characters, and all the NPCs aren't even in the same world that the story is taking place in. Maybe that's intentional, given the circumstances of the story that
the crystals are wiping their memories
, but if so, i feel like it could've been done a bit better. The best example I can provide of this in the story is when
Cornelia comes under attack, the king is slain and many civilians are killed. Most people have had their families killed or turned to monsters, and yet they soon forget as soon as the princess announces she will "be their light" (whatever that means), they're all cheering and happy again despite this all happening over the course of 5 minutes.

Summary
All in all, my criticisms are minor, I'd say, and relate more to some weak points in the story. I still think the story is great, I love how this game ties in to final fantasy 1, the gameplay makes you feel really cool, and I'm considering playing through this again just to try out the other classes.
if you enjoyed Nioh 2, then you will probably enjoy this game. It is way less punishing, even on "hard" difficulty. - You don't have a stamina bar, only a stagger bar. If you dodge everything you can basically attack non-stop. - You have a parry mechanic with which you can also counter spells and throw them back - A bunch of cool weapons and playstyles which you can customize to combo how you like - The hitboxes are tight and in my opinion really good The goal in every fight is to deplete enemy stagger bar. So your built will pretty much end up going for high poise break and soul burst. Sometimes or a lot of times you can brute force bosses and elite enemies down before they can do anything, if you do it the right way. Nonetheless, the game rewards you really good if you handle this mechanic well. But it also punishes you really hard if you fail. The bloat of gear is unfortunately still a thing here like in Nioh 2 or Rise of the Ronin. I usually sort things out after every 2 missions. But yeah, that sucks. Selecting a different monitor in the graphic settings (if you use 2) only applies the change after you restart the game. But the game ain't telling you that. So keep it in mind.
