SO! I know you see all the comments saying this game is subpar and what not.....theyre not wrong but theyre not right. The game itself is really good and i knew it was gonna be good from the trailer/ demo snippet we were given before it was released. althoughhhhh, there is a tiny little hiccup (or hiccups) they still need to polish this game out of bugs and etc because ive seen quite a few.....BUT NEVER GAME BREAKING!!! The gameplay itself is smooth and easy to get the hang of without confusion; If you like games that require you to go at it again and again, improving each time you go in and/or grinding for material to buy upgrades...then this is your game! BUT if you hate repetitiveness or that groundhog day feeling then do not play this (gotta be blunt. I want more people to play but i want the right people to play it and love it! and im sure itll come sooner or later.) With that being said....I like this game...its fun. I didnt pay for it, it was a gift but it was a very good gift at that and i look forward to continuing this game and hopefully the developers do some cool stuff with it in the future like events or etc, who knows.
easy to chill and play
60 Reais pra zerar o jogo em 7h é um absurdo.
4.8 heure and finish the game
I first discovered Storm Lancers on the Nintendo Switch and immediately clicked with its fast, stylish combat loop. My friend gifted me a copy for free so I jumped at the chance to play on Steam, I generally prefer playing on PC — and it was absolutely worth starting over. The visuals really pop on a larger monitor, and the PC version runs beautifully. I didn’t encounter any hitching or performance drops, even during dense encounters. I’ve only played solo so far, so I can’t speak to the co-op experience yet, but the single-player gameplay holds up incredibly well. Enemy AI feels balanced and fair, offering a solid challenge without ever drifting into frustration. Bosses are definitely tough for me, but the progression system — especially investing in Etches — gives each run a clear sense of growth, and it’s satisfying to feel your build strengthening over time. Overall, I highly recommend Storm Lancers. It delivers a ton of fun for the price, with great replay value and a progression loop that’s easy to get hooked on. If you enjoy action roguelites, this one’s absolutely worth adding to your library.
If you're used to complicated games with tons of different abilities and attributes to remember, this may not be the game for you. However, if you're looking for a fun, rogue-lite game where you can find cool weapons in a quick run, Storm Lancers is perfect. The achievements provide an interesting challenge and there is enough variety to keep me lancing through the storm.
Storm Lancers is a side-scrolling action roguelite developed and published by ProbablyMonsters that combines high-speed combat, platforming mobility, and progression-focused gameplay into a cooperative science-fiction adventure built around survival and adaptation. Drawing inspiration from roguelites and exploration-heavy action games, it creates an experience where repeated attempts are not setbacks but essential parts of growth. Every defeat becomes an opportunity to improve, every run introduces new possibilities, and every upgrade gradually transforms players from stranded survivors into increasingly powerful warriors capable of confronting larger threats. The story begins with disaster. Two adventurers find themselves stranded on Cryptica, a dangerous alien world overflowing with unstable magical forces and hostile creatures. Survival quickly becomes more than simply escaping an unfamiliar planet. Strange entities known as Stormhearts recognize the heroes' potential and pull them into a much larger conflict involving the collapse of reality itself. While the narrative remains secondary to gameplay progression, it provides enough mystery and purpose to keep players invested while exploring Cryptica’s dangerous environments. At the center of Storm Lancers sits a roguelite structure built around persistence and long-term improvement. Individual runs often end in failure, but failure rarely feels wasted. Resources gathered throughout expeditions contribute toward permanent upgrades that strengthen future attempts. This progression system creates a rewarding cycle where even unsuccessful runs push players forward. The feeling of gradually becoming stronger remains one of the game’s most satisfying elements, encouraging experimentation instead of punishing mistakes. Combat drives much of the excitement, emphasizing movement as heavily as offense. Mobility abilities dramatically influence how encounters unfold, allowing players to dash through danger, chain movement options together, and maintain momentum during chaotic fights. Early progression begins somewhat limited, but unlocking additional abilities steadily expands combat possibilities. Over time, movement evolves into a powerful tool that feels just as important as weapon choice. Weapon variety helps strengthen replayability by supporting multiple combat approaches. Different tools naturally encourage different playstyles, giving players opportunities to experiment throughout repeated runs. Some weapons favor aggressive close-range attacks while others reward more cautious positioning and ranged engagements. Randomized equipment systems ensure that no two expeditions unfold exactly the same way, forcing adaptation instead of repetitive execution. Enemy encounters benefit significantly from this flexibility. Cryptica presents a broad collection of hostile creatures and environmental dangers that regularly challenge established habits. Players cannot rely entirely on one strategy from beginning to end. New threats demand adjustment and experimentation, encouraging players to fully engage with movement systems and weapon variety rather than settling into repetitive patterns. The game's world design further strengthens replayability through changing environments and evolving exploration opportunities. Cryptica never feels entirely predictable. Different paths, shifting encounters, and hidden discoveries maintain a sense of unpredictability across multiple attempts. Exploration matters not only for progression but also survival. Learning how different environments function gradually becomes just as important as mastering combat mechanics. One of Storm Lancers' strongest features is its cooperative focus. While fully playable alone, the game clearly shines when multiple players tackle challenges together. Cooperative sessions create moments of excitement and unpredictability that naturally emerge when teammates coordinate movement, rescue each other during difficult encounters, or scramble through overwhelming battles together. Shared progression creates a stronger sense of momentum while reinforcing the game's emphasis on teamwork without making solo play feel incomplete. Visually, Storm Lancers embraces a colorful science-fiction identity that supports both gameplay clarity and atmosphere. Alien environments feel distinct while maintaining readability during fast combat encounters. Visual effects enhance mobility systems particularly well, helping movement remain fluid and satisfying throughout progression. The side-scrolling presentation complements the action-heavy gameplay structure by keeping combat understandable even during chaotic moments. The game is not entirely without limitations. Some players may feel progression starts slowly before its full potential becomes apparent. Certain systems reveal their strengths more clearly after additional upgrades unlock, meaning early sections may feel more restrained compared to later portions of the experience. Players deeply familiar with roguelite design may also recognize familiar genre structures throughout progression. However, Storm Lancers succeeds because it understands exactly what kind of experience it wants to deliver. It focuses heavily on movement, replayability, experimentation, and steady improvement rather than overwhelming players with unnecessary complexity. The combination of mobility-focused combat, randomized progression systems, and cooperative gameplay creates an adventure built around constant adaptation and personal improvement. ProbablyMonsters delivers a roguelite that captures much of what makes the genre satisfying while introducing enough identity through movement systems and cooperative design to stand apart. Players who enjoy action platformers, repeatable progression systems, and combat experiences that reward persistence will likely find plenty to appreciate throughout Cryptica’s dangerous world. Storm Lancers may not radically redefine roguelites, but it succeeds at delivering a fast, rewarding, and highly replayable adventure built around growth, mastery, and the thrill of surviving one more run. This severly lacks in inovativity...
Spoko Gra Dla zabicia czasu, na uspokojenie się po całym Dniu i polecam do każdemu
game is severely unpolished and lacking content for $20 1 game is horrendously short even for a roguelike only three areas in the game with 2 sections each 2 several bugs where stuff damaged me offscreen from enemies starting their attacks off screen to then hit me or a trap starts up off screen giving lil time to avoid it 3 enemy variety is lacking half the enemies in the first area are just different variations of the same wolf like alien which is then brought back in the other two areas 4 absolutely zero randomness for the first area platform layout only bit of randomness is what is in the chests and maybe enemy spawn but as there are only 6 enemies its not that randomized 5 only 3 bosses and none of them were hard at all i even killed the second one without taking damage first try
