About

Stoneshard is a challenging turn-based RPG set in an open world. Experience the unforgiving life of a medieval mercenary: travel across the war-torn kingdom, fulfill contracts, fight, mend your wounds and develop your character without any restrictions.
There’s no hand-holding, and the game will punish you for your mistakes: you’ll have to carefully prepare for each expedition, plan your actions in advance, and weigh your resources against possible risks. Saving can only be done in certain spots, so each wrong move can potentially lead to a swift death and lost progress.

Open World
War always leaves its mark: villages lie in ruins, dungeons are infested with monsters, and old roads are abandoned. Travel through Aldor and learn more about its past.
Caravan
Gather your own caravan to travel the world. Acquire upgrades for it and recruit followers - their knowledge and skills will likely benefit you along the way. Feeling weary? Return to your camp to hear new stories or just rest by the fire.
Economy
The wartime economy is ruthless, but it also presents many opportunities: fulfill contracts, hunt for treasure, trade in a variety of goods, and travel the land to earn your fortune.

Character Development
Experiment with 200+ abilities and 400+ equipment pieces without any class or level restrictions. Create your very own playstyle!
Enemy Variety
Take part in intense battles against numerous factions. Brigands, abominable cults, the undead - all of them require a unique approach.
Tactical Battles
Only the thoughtful ones shall prevail - plan a few turns ahead, adapt to your surroundings, and fully utilize your character’s strengths.

Health System
Master the simple but deep health system: cauterize bleeding wounds, relieve pain with alcohol and drugs, practice bloodletting and heal your maladies with various concoctions.
Psyche
Different in-game situations have a distinct influence on your character’s mental condition. High morale may turn the tide in your favor when fighting even the most hopeless of battles, while low sanity brings panic attacks and paranoia.
Permadeath
Do you like risk? Then try out the Ironman mode, where every decision is irreversible and your character dies once and for all.
New Content
Additional settlements, enemy factions, and even more activities, equipment, and abilities.
Main Story
To solve the mystery of Stoneshards, you’ll have to undertake a long journey full of dangers, hardships, and adventures. What choices will you make in this bleak world?

Dying resets your progress despite saving the game because devs think they are "cooking" with game mechanics. Waste of time and money.
This game is pretty much a scam six years later
I really wanted to like this game. I like a challenge, but this game is just a frustration simulator. No matter what build you use, combat manages to be both incredibly boring and incredibly difficult, but in the worst way. There are almost no strategies to employ other than either kiting or fighting in a chokepoint (like a doorway). You do the same things over and over and over, and if you're not both extremely careful and extremely lucky, you will die and have to do those same things over and over and over again. The game feels like work. Dev, you should be paying ME!
Disappointing, somehow it has content creep while also being mostly empty. And i hate time pressure in quest, especially when it meaningless. The story is forgettable too, this would have done better as a tightly crafted dungeon game.
Let me save the game.
One of the worst save mechanics in any game ever. Game is fairly RNG based, which wouldn't be terrible if dying didn't mean loosing an hour or so of progress. Debuffs are also extremely unintuitive in the sense that some don't really explain why you got them and or how to get rid of them. You also absolutely need to look up a guide for a meta build. You could maybe at most allocate 2 skill points incorrectly before your character is useless. And you need to get certain book drops to get the correct skills you need. Game mistakes tedium for difficulty which makes it generally hard to enjoy.
Developers that do not hold up their end of the bargain. I regret giving these ghouls money.
The game itself—its mechanics, world, and overall concept—is solid. It's genuinely enjoyable to play. The problem is the save system, which has absolutely no respect for the player's time and can easily make you lose anywhere from an hour to ninety minutes of progress because of RNG. Trying to justify it with some supposed sense of pressure or higher stakes is complete stupidity. Fortunately, there are mods. That said, calling the person responsible for this save system an idiot would be an insult to all idiots. If you're okay with the game wasting an hour or more of your time due to pure RNG, then go ahead and buy it—you'll likely enjoy it. I personally value my time too much to put up with such ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game mechanics.
Believe me, I really want to like this game. It has everything I've ever wanted in a tactical combat and mercenary simulation. But this game clearly isn't for someone with a day job who just wants to spend a few hours relaxing at night. With the amount of RNG this game throws at you, it can easily rob you of hours of progress and leave you with nothing but a bitter ending, without doing anything to compensate for it. I could see myself back in high school or college sinking hundreds of hours into this, but not anymore. This game doesn't RESPECT my time, and judging by the other negative reviews, the developers clearly don't give a sh*t either.
I wanted to love this game. The pixel art is gorgeous, the atmosphere is solid, but that's where it ends. Everything else is a masterclass in how NOT to design a game. The economy is a joke. You clear a dungeon, risk your life, crawl back to town, and barely earn enough to buy bread. Enchantment scrolls cost a fortune and give you +2% damage. Are you kidding me? Walking simulator. 70% of your playtime is holding WASD across empty maps, is it hard to at least make it faster when you hold or use shift or whatever? And since you can only save at beds, if you die in the dungeon (which you will), congrats on having to walk that 20 minutes again! Supporter packs before finishing Early Access. The game has been in EA since 2020, the main story is still nowhere near done. And that leads to the most unbearable ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, the save system. The devs literally admitted in a statement that saving anywhere is "technically impossible" due to procedural generation and "too many objects to save." I personally have handled hundreds of billions of voxels in a voxel engine and have NEVER had problems making a proper save system. Just admit it's SKILL ISSUE and look for help! Playing this game is pure PAIN. I WANT MY MONEY BACK.
