About
Stellar Settlers is a chill space base/city builder and colony simulation game set in the depths of uncharted space. As you embark on a cosmic adventure, take control of a space settlement and build your thriving colony on alien planets with different challenging and hostile environments that want to destroy your colony.
Every new planet is different, procedurally generated environment, ores, special events, new settlers, building pods and stories. Adapt your play style to mine and collect as much materials you can. When you are stable enough, start designing and building a physics-based spaceship (similar to Kerbal Space Program) to escape the planet when environment conditions get too harsh. Progress through different planets and visit them all.
Explore the unknown, mine valuable resources, and manage your colony with strategic choices like picking talented Settlers. Wishlist it now!
With original vertical space base building mechanics, strategize your base with horizontal and vertical connections to the Base Pods with different functionality, durability, and cost. Mine more, build a bigger, safer space base for your Settlers.
Take on the adventure and challenge of overcoming 10 different carefully designed hostile planets (will be 10 after full release), that want to ruin your plans and colony in every step. Every planet's environment and disaster mechanics require a different mindset and strategy to overcome.
Your Settlers are your most important tool for success. With progressively unlocking new settlers with different talents and perks, pick the Settlers to come with you, based on your own play style and strategy.
Stellar Settlers features 5 different game modes: Morph the gameplay depending on your preferences. Do you want an extra chill experience with no negative events? Or do you want to build crazy spaceship builds and launch them? Unlimited resources?

I got this game as part of the chill city bundle and I hate to say but this game is unfinished and the worst of the 5. The base defense mode is LITERALY BROKEN, you can't place settlers in buildings because the game just removes them from you, making the game mode unbeatable. some awards are bugged and some you get in other game modes where you are not supposed to get them (I played regular and got an award for base defense). The idea and concept is there but I disagree with the game getting out of early access, its unfinished and still has some bugs, starting to think AI was also used for coding and not limited to artwork.

I care a lot about worldbuilding in games, and to be honest, I cannot take the game seriously when the first screen shows dozens of AI-generated character portraits and landscapes. That AI-generated stuff made me lose 100% of my interest in the game. If they don't care about the characters and places they created enough to avoid using cheap garbage that shouldn't even serve as placeholders, why would I care?
I had a good feeling at start, the 3D is cool, the UI is kinda cluncky but the gameplay is ok, but the worst part is the rocket design, almost no info about how it really works, the amount of resources is insane and you have 90% chance of failure since the game (which explains everything before) doesn't give you the rules, even the few elements the game gives you make no sens: build a complete skyrocket, but only the nose need to reach space, why adding life modules then?! Trusters need to be close to the nose, wtf?! Cherry on the cake "you failed, don't give up!" no thx...
It's a shame, but I feel I have to refund this. The presentation and feel are ever so nice, but between elements' arbitrary refusal to connect to one another (tunnels were going from attachment point to attachment point, I did check - and what possible benefit is there to letting me build the things in positions that won't work, anyway?), disinclination to use fullscreen v-sync even when enabled, and a bizarre tendency to ping back and forth between windowed and maximised at the opening of a menu, the game just... feels like an unfinished project.
so slow, needs a 2x or 3x time multiplier buttons. there doesn't seem to be enough engaging content to even spend 5 euros on this
It's a good game, but I expected something different to happen when we moved to the new planet.

The game is listed as having a controller support and there is even a controller layout in settings, but ... I don't know, maybe its me, but playing this game with a controller is the most frustrating thing ever. The layout is so unintuitive it's amazing. Both pads and 2 shoulder buttons control the camera. All together 4 inputs for a camera, but no input to move the cursor - including in menus. Want to close a dialog? Press B. Press it again and it goes to Main menu. Want to build something? Its Y/X, horizontal scrolling and A. Want to remove a building that you build by mistake because pressing A in menu build it immediately, even though it was not shown on screen? Its right pad (the camera rotate) press? Want to click a button in a dialog? Who knows, you cannot control the cursor and pressing any of remaining buttons (Y, B, A, X) either opens a build menu (twice: X or A), closes dialog (B), opens main menu (B again) or either does nothing (A), opens a dialog again (still A) or builds a random building (A yet again). I played this game for about 10 minutes, 7 of which I was trying to figure out controlls or switching in and out of mouse mode. Visually this game looks nice, I guess.
