The greatest story ever told
One of the best sci-fi stories ever told is ultimately about profound human connection. Would you look at that?
Very Good - A story that puts a bow on the (true) ending unlike any time-travel narrative I've experienced so far. I truly think the writing of the overarching plot is stellar here. The sci-fi part of the story is really very coherent and so interesting that I considered its application in real life. The emotional build-up is long and drags a bit in the first half of the novel and the main character's internal monologue can be a bit too exuberant, but it does strum your feelings in some key moments nicely and manages to pull off quite a few surprising twists on you as well. As it's a visual novel, there's hardly any gameplay nor decision space outside of following the main narrative. The way responding to texts on your phone affects the story beats, which is basically the one mechanic of the game, feels basically completely random and doesn't make me feel like I've been given any control over the outcomes whatsoever.
