I'm covered in bees!!! If you get it, you get it. Seriously though, the game is janky as hell but kind of charming. Like a good low budget horror, which is basically what this is in point and click form. The puzzle solutions are often mental combinations of items like severed limbs and intestines to open a door (like why? The whole ship is basically made out of loose wires...) or filling gloves with acid... basically solutions that would only make sense to a dev who is up at 4am surrounded by empty cans of energy drink in a state of sleep deprived delirium. So you end up sort of brute-forcing your way through the puzzles because they are largely an exercise in trial and error and can sometimes result in hilariously grotesque deaths. Some of the deaths are essentially unavoidable because the most obvious solution to a rational person is fatal. I guess it's the devs having fun with it which is part of the charm though. But despite the jankiness and insanity, the atmosphere is great and I couldn't stop playing. They knew what they wanted to make but just did it a bit amateurishly.
DEAD SPACE
"What if some of the worst human experimentation ♥♥♥♥ that happened during the 20th century happened again, but in space" might sound tasteless or strange, but STASIS portrays this with the bleakness and despair that it deserves. It's not very fun in that respect, but developer The Brotherhood's brilliance at constructing atmosphere and striking visuals is clearly on display already in this early undertaking. The narrative becomes a bit weird at times, in the sense that the writing falters every now and then and can be a bit too on the nose, but the whole is greater than a few defective parts here. Some of the puzzles are also a bit too cryptic but that's to be expected. If you like classic style adventure games and horror stories, play this.
Atmospheric, but difficult to play because it won't render well on my PC, making everything so tiny. Brutal, puzzle, horror. I feel like I should have liked this, but it just didn't hook me and was a bit too needlessly bleak/gory for my tastes.
I like the game but unfortunately it broke for me and I can't progress, so it has to be a thumbs down
Thematically strong game that has a few minor annoyances, and in general lacks some polish, but overall I would recommend it to anyone looking for a short adventure that can also get you thinking about the depravity of humanity. Audio design is kind of meh and inconsistent but the writing and notes are very good. Sometimes the puzzle logic was annoying to me, but items are mostly easy to find and there are enough clues around. I am not an adventure game veteran by any means so milage might vary on that front.
