Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 17/day in the week to Aug 18 → 46.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Reviews
Pros: Adorable graphics. Solid map. Customizable house building. Cons: Vapid characters. Uninteresting dialogue. No heart. Do Not Recommend UNLESS you enjoy a mindless resource gathering sim. But it's not really satisfying.

I don't understand the recent "mostly negative reviews" like what was people expecting from this game? Now the game is basically My Time games hybrid with Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons, and yes we get Gust and Ginger from My Time at Portia and Feng and Nia from My Time at Sandrock as residents "was a little disappointed they had the smallest quest line going with minimum voice acting" but was nice to see them again so that's a bonus. You get 4 massive plots of land to make farms/houses whatever you went in 4 different areas can even make a houseboat, you have 5 professions you work on, Crafting, Farming, Fishing, Ranching and Exploration all with 5 tiers from Apprentice to Expert, so there's a lot to do, then ofc you have the Island Life with even more things and quests to do and unlockable things then you have StarNote which is a Lv 1-45 tier thing where you unlock loads of different things leveling up, so again even more things, then you have so much furniture like loads of it, and for same for outfits, and as for animals you've quite a lot their and you can breed them, then you've 2 animals a dog and cat you can buy then a few others you can adopt, you've got a decent size dungeon with a boss at the end of it as well, liked that for what it was but basic but I liked it. You have a lot of vehicles you can buy and use from roller skates to hoverboards to cars and Motorcyles and Boats even a Luna Deer. On your first plot of land you can expand it like 8 times too, so even more of a bonus if you like building. The fishing is quite good and the ponds and all that go with it and you can breed fish in the ponds, have displays for fishes and so on. You also have teleporters to get around to places quicker and bus stops as well. I've had no performance issues bar a few dropped frames a few times, and a few times my character got stuck "there's an unstuck option though' now I will say it's not all praise there's a few negatives like it could do with polishing up more especially in some areas, npcs feel a bit weak it lacks, so if you like romancing you're out of luck with this "I saw that apparently they where supposed to do dating and loads of romance options and they never did, so they didn't deliver on some stuff they obviously promised on, bit crappy from developers on that one" now I am fully against Ai in the use of professional things like games, movies and tv shows, anything tbf, I've seen reviews stating ai was used? Apparently only for translation I could tell something was up in sections with that as chinese text kept coming up in dialogue at times, and the english was a little hit and miss, so obviously Ai was used for translation?, as for ai for assests and making the game I don't think they did, but again apparently they were vague about it but did put a post stating ai wasn't used for the creation of the game as I can see, so who knows but playing it for 80+ hours if they did it's well hidden and hardly used. Also if Ai was used for creation of the game I don't think the My Time developers would of put there characters into this game. And also a bit of negative on the story... there's not one really which it could of benefitted from tbf, but not all games need one, but this game could of used one with that forest/dungeon they have and then link it to the My Time characters coming into play. Also certain areas look a bit dead on the map could of done with doing it up a little more in those areas. But overall there's plenty to do. Overall after 80+ hours I'm enjoying it still things to do, only maxed out 2 of the 5 professions and half way into the island life thing "I totally forgot about that so only picked that up doing it like 70 hours in" and I am almost done ish with Star Note on Lv 33/45, so I am gonna rack up over 100+ hours once I am done, spent a lot of time building too. For £33 it's more than worth the money, I did buy it in early acesss for I think £19, so even more worth the money, I was just waiting for full release. so the negative reviews baffle me, I get the whole not getting certain aspects promised in the kickstarter with romance and dating, and some kickstarters didn't get keys on time which is bad on the developers side of things, but I think there was people deliberately trying to destroy the game and get it pulled with making stuff up from a few threads I saw, and there was a few people being crazy and antagonising towards the devs as well, from what I read up, so I can guarantee the ai claims are made up from them lot, probs mad cause a few things promised wasn't delivered so they went out there way to try destroy things, sad individuals. But overall as I said I am having a blast with it, don't listen to all the negative reviews, if you like games like My Time, Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons and games similar to that then you'll probs enjoy this and get play time out of it like I have. Few iasues here and there in the game but it's cozy enough for me and does the job for it's price tag and more.
Boring and unoriginal.
I don't know what happened. When it was in EA I was excited, but now i'm feeling very regretful of ever buying this game. I don't do negative reviews often. But there is no storyline, no sense of adventure. Everything is a grind. And the addition of Pathea's characters does nothing to make this game any better. This game falls very short of my expectations and I honestly wish I could get a refund but I can't. I put in too many hours thinking it would get better but it didn't. The graphics are beautiful. That's all I think this game has going for it. Game is uninstalled and I don't think i'll ever play it again.
You know the game is good when the ESC button and the START button doesnt work so you cant save the game or exit the game looool .
Y'all are nuckin futs. Outraged over anything and everything... even things that don't exist... or at the very least pointing your... steaming hot pile of virtue... in the wrong directions. I don't care about (almost) any of the reasons this game is getting review bombed so you'll have to excuse my extra SNARK on what is my 127th review in 22 years on steam with my catalog of over 1200 games on my profile that's never changed its name, never had a ban or a VAT and isn't set to private AND you can even comment to me if you want to, on my profile or on this review! Shocking. TLDR: I think Starsand Island is A LOT fun, I did get it in EA, but didn't play until after release. I did only pay about 13 bucks for it, but honestly... I think its worth 40. You heard me. I'm 20 hours in (remember this playtime is 100% post-release, not EA) and I'm having an absolute blast... it looks amazing, the characters are fun, the gameplay is fast and rewarding and there's a ton of content. I've only had 1 crash in these 20 hours (and I was really doing some weird stuff at the time) and yes it seems like there is a bug right now in the explorer quest line, that the devs have acknowledged and said they are working on a patch for it. Starsand Island is basically a Chinese anime baby of My Time at Portia and Stardew Valley. Its got all the QoL you'd expect and more... and wow it is fun to play, things feel quick and impactful and the town is AMAZING, the decorating and building is amazing... and there's even premade housing templates that you can plop down and then customize to your hearts desire... or just build from scratch. The vehicles are fun and varied, granted its not like Forza 6 but... come on man there's skateboards, rollerblades, motorcycles, hoverboards, jet skis. The character creation isn't super deep but I was still able to make a character I was happy with and I'm having a good time playing dress up. As you progress through the quests for the 5 professions you unlock a lot of stuff and it starts out quick and easy but ramps way up. Even once you do finish a profession there's still A LOT left to do. A LOT. Now don't get me wrong, I'm all for review bombing. Its a proven way to get our voices heard when for decades we've just been screaming into the void. What I'm saying here is that THIS SPECIFIC game... I don't really get the complaints. At least not to the level that people are taking it. 1) AI... The Devs say no and I don't see any, so... who should I believe some rando on the internet with a rage problem or the people making the game? Eh. I'll need more than that to get my heckles up. What actually happened was probably one of you decided to flex and hired some positive review bots so that then you could be like... oooohh look they're bad, its literally a ONE PUNCH MAN episode... regardless, lets say there are fake reviews and AI... I. Dont. Care. Game. Is. Fun. I hate AI but I also think in this specific instance most people are overblowing by a lot. 2) Kickstarter Shenanigans... ROFL are you kidding me? That's just Kickstarter being Kickstarter. What you thought someone trying to sell you an IDEA for your DONATION is gonna give you the 100% raw unfiltered truth with no hidden agendas or double speak? ROFL, MY SWEET SUMMER CHILD, YOU KNOW NOTHING. I'm a former superbacker, this is like a normal Tuesday night. 3) Investors... Really? Do we need a lesson in business? Investors invest, developers develop, publishers publish, and most people have shocking low IQs... hard facts I guess... Sure, sure, sure, sometimes there's some crossover, but that doesn't mean there always is, or that its something the gamers should care about. If you really wanna boycott EVERYTHING Tencent owns or even invests in... good luck with that. The complaint here I guess is that they can't be indie if someone big owns them... but having a parent company doesn't necessarily mean anything... Still mad? Fine forget all of that... you're angry/surprised that a Chinese company is behaving exactly like a Chinese company. I just can't help you. I really can't. Be worried about flock cameras and stuff like that... this isn't the hill to die on. Yes it irks me a little bit that they played the indie card so well and you all backed well before knowing the truth... I bought the game knowing 100% what I was going into... and I'm glad I did. 4) DLC/Microtrans... Okay this one I do feel a little bit, but not anywhere near the level of MOST other games. I mean its not loot boxes or card packs, and last time I checked there's very little of it, and its totally unnecessary to enjoy the game so... why not let the devs hook a whale or two for a little extra coin? It's not being advertised (anywhere that I can see) so it literally could not affect me less. Lets say I'm completely wrong about everything, okay fine, I agree with you, I'm wrong, you're right, you win... I'm on your side now... buuuuut even still I think its a solid game that is super fun to play... honestly I think its one of the best cozy games I've ever played. Maybe I'm just being a contrarian but... I could see myself 100%-ing the game and then still continuing to play. To me that means the game is actually quite frickin' good! P.S. Its 2 am and I'm hungry, I see some edits I should make already but... I'm gonna go eat first, is that okay with you? Thanks. P.P.S. I wasn't really looking for your approval, I'm an adult. This is just a joke, please don't get too angry, its bad for you. P.P.P.S. Hey if you're still reading this lets be friends, send me an invite and if you don't have a level 0 private account, I'll actually consider adding you.
