Do not buy this game.

I do give this a thumbs up, because there is no neutral option. 10 or perhaps 20 years ago this would have been a really good game and I would have loved to play it. You start with the creation of axes and bows and campfires from wood and stone and materials like that. You have to get water to drink and food to eat, hunting, fishing or buying are options at the start. You can upgrade all the way to a point where you create a space ship, craft good weapons, grow food inside your space ship or one of your bases and conquer areas where you then can build machines and buildings otherwise impossible. You travel to space and even to other planets and moons to get certain resources, you can of course create bases there too. Many things that are hard and feel like punishment can be done easily another way mid or late game. Like getting water. In the beginning you need to go to a water source, probably kill animals around it, get hurt, heal yourself, kill more animals and then finally get dirty water into your empty bottles. Then you can use a camping fire to create clean water from these bottles. Later you just put a machine into your base or spaceship which will fill your empty bottles with clean water. Better mining tool, better weapon, better everything... upgrading is possible and you feel the difference. But. Yeah, there is a but. To be honest, there are are multiple buts. The game uses the Unity engine. And no, not like one of these games where you ask "is it really using Unity?". Nope, this is like "Oh, yeah, Unity Engine, no wonder moving and using machines and closing doors feels like I am 40 years back in time". It is just bad. Walking is no fun, getting resources with the beginner axe/pickaxe is no fun, shooting with the bow is not really fun. Looting dead animals works, but you have to move around the animal until you get the loot option. After a while the parts from felt trees vanish and if you are using your saw at that moment you are stuck in the sawing animation. You have to go to the main menu and reload the game to get rid of it. Even in single player you can get a server disconnect. No joke. :-( I kind of hate to say this, but there are other games which are feeling better when you control your character. If you "just" want survival, then ARK:Survival Evolved, Conan Exiles, GRAV or The Front are all better choices. If you want space ships, then Empyrion:Galactic Survival or No Man's Sky can do the trick. I REALLY hate to say this, but even Terraria and Starbound are more fun. But, like Wurm Unlimited, some games are no crowd-pleasers, have problems, but for some people they are THE game they were looking for. This game might be it for you. It is not really bad and it has some interesting features and things to build. So... if you are looking for a game where you can go from wood and stone to other planets and don't fear the grind to get there and old graphics and Unity's bad movement don't drive you away, give it a try. If you are looking for a game with 2025 graphics and good controls, skip this.
