About
After surviving a helicopter crash, your main goal is to return home. Stranded on remote islands, you must endure as a castaway - gathering resources to find food, build shelter, craft essential tools, uncover the islands’ mysteries both on land and underwater, and fight to chart your way back to safety.
In these islands and waters, you can’t do groceries. You must hunt the wild for sustenance and gather resources and materials to build your shelter. It starts with you and you alone - giving up just isn’t an option.
Danger comes in all directions, and you’ll need something to fend them off and rest easy. Find a spot and build a roof over your head - it’s more than just a shelter from the storm.
Everywhere’s uncharted territory - which means there are secrets to uncover. Weave through danger, dive into the blue depths, and traverse the islands to find more than what you see under the sun.
No man is an island - even in the wilderness. Team up with fellow castaways and increase your survivability with combined effort. You all want to go home - might as well do it together and strong.

I normally wait for at least 30 hours of playtime before leaving a review. But when I saw negative reviews where the reviewer only played for a half hour or just under 1 hour - how can you form a well educated opinion of a game with only a half hour of playtime? I played this game for the first time on 05/28/2026 and at 5 hours of play time I haven't even scratched the surface of all this game has to offer. I will be back at it again today , the next day and so on. If you are going to leave a negative review, have the time invested to prove your points. And if you are reading reviews to determine if the game is worth the investment, read reviews with at least 15 hours or more of playtime. Skip the reviews that show the reviewer hasn't truly played the game. I am an Alpha/Beta game tester and have been testing games for over 10 years. I have worked with large dev teams and one man dev teams. Several games I am still testing even after the game has been released to both EA and beyond EA. A game is never finished until a developer washes their hands of the game. As a game tester, I have inside access to how the game is developed as well as what resources are at a developers disposal for creating a game. If you don't know how a game is made, play testing a game will give you much insight and will allow you to see the game from a totally different perspective. Play Testing will give you grace as a gamer. Even if playtesting a game is not an option, playing an EA game puts you right in the middle of it's development. Instead of writing negative reviews, be part of the team. Developers have tunnel vision. Its not until the game is out there in player's hands that valuable information regarding bugs, glitches and minor/major issues are discovered through game play and constructive feedback. Join the developer's Discord and report the issues you encounter in a game. It may already be known or it may be something new. As a gamer, you can be a huge contributor to a game's success. Be a voice of progress and support. It goes a long way to helping the developer improve the game and the game's success. Be part of the solution, not the problem. As for Away From Life: This game and its potential excites me. My sister and I have 550 hours in Stranded Deep years ago. We broke the game, literally. The developers either didn't have a clue what to fix or had given up on the game entirely. It's been several years since we've been able to play a survival game that reminds us of all the great memories we made in Stranded Deep - until now. Away From Life scratches that itch for us. As soon as I saw cargo containers, shipwrecks, ocean life, many islands to travel, crafting, beautiful scenery and so much more, I knew this is the game for us. Away From Life is the perfect title too. During our Stranded Deep days, my sister and I DID NOT want to be rescued, which is the end game intent. Since gaming is an escape from real life for us, so are the games we play. Staying stranded, living off the land and enjoying the peace this game brings "away from life", we won't be looking to escape Away From Life anytime soon, either. Away from Life was released to Early Access in April 2026. Its been barely 2 months at the time of this writing. For a small dev team, this game is so far ahead in development over other released EA games. And since the price is respectfully on par for an EA game, buying the game now and being part of its growth is the right move. Later on when the game has improved and is a better game all around, the cost will surely go up as most games do when released from EA. Get away from real life and dive into Away From Life.
I normally do not leave reviews for games, but this one has me frustrated. It is a beautiful game, and impressive considering it is one dev working on this solo. With that said I have to give it a thumbs down, at least for now. I get that it is early access, I have lots of early access titles, most of which are survival games. One of the key components of any survival/builder/crafting is material/storage. In the 90 minutes I have played this game I have had 4 play sessions (Busy dad and can only play in short spurts atm). Every time I have logged out with an inventory of loot I log back in and my inventory is empty. Storage is empty. Yes, I am saving the game. I have verified files. Nothing seems to help. I will revisit this title after it cooks a bit, but please, please, fix this.
Wait until he releases the real game. In its current stage is just an idea with too many flaws to stand. It appears like is going to be another of those easy money grab that we won't hear again after a short while. But I hope, as usual to be wrong. In the meanwhile some advices: there is not such thing as "banana tree", they are "banana plants" therefore you can't get wood from them. That think that look like a trunk are actually its leaves. It's a herbaceous perennial closer to a berry than anything else. Also, the fruits grow in "hands", clusters on a stalk. Each "hand" hold way more than two bananas, and the stalk holds more than one hand. Vitamin deficiencies don't happen in hours like in this game. I want to talk about the role of the "so called influencers" promoting products that are incomplete, defective, or plain bad. You know them because they always will say "this game is beautiful" as soon as they log in the game. Their job is not to analyze the game, but sell it. I have not respect for those mercenaries.
I rarely leave game reviews, let alone negative reviews. But there are times when I actually feel robbed. I know it is a one developer game, but still...This game should be 5$ tops! It is clunky, graphics are a total mess, not much to do in the game. And the bad part is: it is full of stupid bugs. Fuel dissapearing from engines if left when you exit the game. So as plants, so be sure to pick them up before exiting and put fuel in a chest. Fuel consuption is...what? The helicopter is useless, you need 100 fuel to get to the nearest island. And so is the boat motor. They chug fuel like there is no tomorrow. And the raft is WAAAAAAY to slow, even with a motor. Controls for both the heli and the boat are clunky. You are better off swimming and dealing with the sharks. Also, in my game, it is raining ALL THE TIME, I am sick of it!!! Really cannot recommend this game. Maybe on a BIG sale.
We played for 2 days and it remained uninteresting. I wanted to expect more action from the game with abandoned ships. Hidden treasures are missing. More building options than just moving around with a raft. It was often difficult to control him and he got stuck if they work on the game then there will be a good
Langweilig
Beautiful ocean and amazing attention to detail. Lots of resources. Critters in the ocean are hungry too, so beware before you go swimming. Looking forward to updates to see where this goes. Glad i bought it.
OK! If i have a palm tree, that has 20 leaves on it. I shouldn't have 1 leaf fall out when i chop the tree down. Graphics good, concept is good. Needs some more work. Making rope was the hardest chore to do in this game. Had to stop playing after two hours because I would have to rebuild a new axe or find food and water on my journey to make rope.
I gave it a thumbs down as this I build like storage dissapears as well as the stuff needed to make it . the days are way to short. The verity of things to kill to eat are few and far between I played for seven hours saw one crab one boar and one dragon in seven hours I get wanting to be realistic but its to the point its not enjoyable. you cut down one tree with six leaves and only get two not doable .I love these types of games but I struggle to find what good about this at this point.
great game lovely graphics a very relaxing game to keep your mind occupied!
