Fun game, would recommend if you're into space/ship building/exploration games. It feels like it pays out what you put in. Took me about 35 hours, still had a bunch of exploring in the corners left probably but I feel like I got through most of the game. It was pretty enjoyable, and certianly well paced. I sort of hit the end game by the time I was getting burnt out on it. Ship combat is pretty satisfying, although it does feel like the difficulty tappers off and you can annihilate anything. Same with ship building. Balancing resources and space and such is enjoyable until you get something that you like and wins the game from about the last third onwards. Although considering there were weapon systems and upgrades I didn't get access to or use, there seems to be variety of play styles. Including a different pacing. Lots of life and vibes in the setting, lots of interesting locations and groups just engaging enough without being overwhelming depths of lore but with hints and indications of more. Story was solid, no surprises in a good way, some cool ideas but it didn't dwell too much on any one thing.

I'm really having a great time playing this game so far. If you are not very good at shooting things in space like me, it really helped when I pressed "Z", went to "Ship Systems" and set Plasma Cannons to Autofire and Fixed Guns to Smart. I say this because after about 5 or 6 hours it became quite tedious at times trying to focus my firing on all the enemy ships, and I was getting a little frustrated I admit that I'm not that great at these kind of games but as soon as I saw there was a setting to make the guns auto fire the FUN HAS BEGUN!! lol :). It became both a lot easier and more fun when I could just focus on flying around while watching my guns automatically focus fire at everything a million times better than I ever could. Oh and check the keyboard settings too because I did have to fire a missile or 2 manually. :) ALSO the building aspect can be a little intimidating at first, and it doesn't really give you a lot of ideas on what to do. That being said if you play around a bit and see what all the items do, it all becomes quite simple and fun fast (well at least to me). It's fun to piece together your own little ship and when I finally upgraded to an Explorer with missile launchers, a bigger crew and faster engines things really picked up.
