Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.71/day in the week to Aug 22 → 1.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I can't give this game anything less than a 10/10. There's a good amount of combat, which keeps the exploration interesting, and progressing the game is fairly straightforward. If you ever 'run out of things to do', just explore a new solar system (as there will pretty much always be at least one that's unexplored). The weapon systems all feel unique and have their own strengths, energy/heat management needs, material cost, and research to unlock or upgrade them. The modules are all have shapes and interactions with neighboring modules in a way that makes their placement have huge effects on the capabilities of a ship all while the design freedom allows many overall shapes that have their own benefits too. My advice is to look at NPC ships and see what benefits and downsides their designs have. The story is loose and exploration outside main questlines is encouraged, as it opens up new tech and areas. Side quests are well thought out too, and some of their endings and the choices you have can be comical, no spoilers though, see for yourself. The optimization is amazing. I know this is a 2D game, but even that sometimes isn't enough to say a game will run well, so I gave it the 'lap' test. I can affirm that even with a heavy blanket on my lap, the laptop doesn't overheat when playing this game. Impressive stuff, few games can achieve that (unironically). I've also only experienced one POTENTIAL bug in a specific mission, so it's also well debugged. One thing you should know before you buy is that this game does have limited content. By that I mean there is an ending, and a set amount of solar systems, and after exploring everything there's not anything else to really do besides overengineering your ships to destroy enemies that will still appear easier. Apparently, many aspects of the galaxy remain the same between playthroughs as well, though I've not reached the end and started a new save, so I can't confirm this as of yet. Despite this and me usually preferring the types of games I can play forever, I love this game. It's well worth its price and I would have bought it even without the deal.

Just an enjoyable space game, and i really like the shipbuilding mechanic so far, but i've prob only just dipped my toe into the mechanic so far.
Amazingly fun game! Worth the money
A cozy and relatively brief exploration and light combat experience. Lots of fun. Secret ending is a little less pointed out than one would like. I enjoyed and will almost certainly purchase any sequel. Generally an upgrade from the previous game, especially given the crew. Also extremely well-written.
This is close to capturing the magic of StarControl but it isn't quite ambitious enough. The Game Mechanics are mostly solid and a big step up, but the story and the aliens were kinda bland and the endings are disappointing. That said, I enjoyed the majority of my time in the game, but perhaps not enough to replay it in the future. Get this on sale and it's a great bargain.
This turned out to be a really cool game worth the price, which is rare for this old gamer from the 80`s. I feel like I`m getting to the end of the story though which is a bit disappointing as there wont be anything left to do after. I only wish it were 10x bigger with more factional warfare and bigger variety of EVERYTHING! Its like the classic arcade Asteroids game mixed with StarFlight from the Sega Genesis, playing it of the hardest difficulty is actually the most fun. I would preorder Starcom 2 just because this one was as good as it is compared to so much disappointment over the years from new games.
Really addicting. It has ship design that's involved enough to make significant aesthetic and mechanical choices, without getting too complicated and frustrating. Exploration is rewarding and interesting, and combat is straightforward enough to learn quickly. I can't wait to see what's near that next star! Highly recommend!
Great game. I can really recommend it. The story is good too and the battles are fun. I recommend to play it on hard right from the start.
Nice game. If the game was still developped these things I would like to be added / changed: - Voice to the NPCs. Text is rather small and not so easy to read always. - Maybe some other voice sfxs like reactions to failed attempts to make it more clear what happens. - I find especially the map controls rather problematic. I constantly press the wasd keys to attempt to scroll the map but it controls the ship instead.
good game for the price
