Great game, wish there was a sequel
This game forces HDR and their is no way to turn it off, it also will randomly use 100% of my GPU and go to 500 fps and make my PC make a weird noise. Buy on xbox or Playstation

Good ♥♥♥♥!
Star Wars Squadrons not only delivers on a fighter flight sim, but the game takes a universe built around iconic ships and actually lets you feel like you’re inside them, which sounds like a low bar until you consider how rarely Star Wars games have delivered on that specific promise. Motive Studio did a great job creating a story that allows you to experience both the light and dark without having to commit to a select campaign. It was incredible how this dev took the time and carefully thought out how players could switch between factions, have two genuinely different experiences and it not just be same ship diff paint. Imperial ships fly differently than Rebel ships, the tactical priorities shift, and the tug of war between perspectives gives the story more texture than most Disney era Star Wars has managed in any medium. That said I found the dark side to be the more challenging side of the campaign. The battles earn their difficulty honestly. Some of them will push back hard enough that you feel the victory when it comes, and for a Star Wars game to generate genuine tension rather than choreographed spectacle is worth acknowledging. IMO - the hangar mechanics are the weak point. Managing loadouts and upgrades between missions has a clunkiness to it that the rest of the experience doesn’t share and it creates friction right at the moment the game should be building momentum toward the next sortie. However the story lands better than expected given the era it was released in. It won’t redefine what Star Wars means to you but it respects the universe enough to tell something coherent with actual stakes, which in 2020 felt quietly revolutionary for a Disney production. Finished clean on Steam Deck with no issues, which for a cockpit game on a handheld is a better result than you might expect. Worth picking up on sale for any Star Wars fan with even passing interest in space combat.
It works for me, the only thing I did was set an affinity for P Cores for Steam(not sure if that was even necessary) It's worth it, but wait for a sale.
