fix the game startup get rid of error

You can't even launch the game nowadays ! Don't buy, it's a scam.

The old Easy Anti Cheat this game uses will crash on launch on high core Intel CPUs (mostly) 12th Gen and newer. I used multiple solutions to launch successfully and reach playable fps or prevent stuttering. Using Task Manager --> Details tab --> steam.exe --> set affinity --> disable cores starting from last to first i.e deselect cores 11 - 4, not cores 0 - 7 until the game launches, some said 8 cores, I found I needed to select 4 cores. (needs to be done again if you exit steam) -This is to select your CPU's P cores and to deselect your E cores. P = performance (e.g. gaming) E= efficiency (e.g. multitasking, web browsing). P cores come first on the affinity selection. Can use either but not both, the anti cheat doesn't like different strength cores being used at the same time. Then find the game .exe : in Steam Library --> select the game --> on right side is a cog wheel icon (options) --> manage --> Browse local files --> right click on the .exe files --> properties --> compatability tab --> run in windows 8 compatability mode. --> then run as administrator. (unsure if neccessary, but I also did this for the easy anti cheat .exe) As for the gameplay, I didn't enjoy trying to fly and target enemies using mouse and keyboard. The mouse binds to control movement cannot be changed or removed and only one type of input is accepted at once, if I tried using the mouse to get precise targeting while still using the keyboard for other movement, the keyboard canceled out the mouse. ... Perhaps lowering the sensitivity for keyboard input would have made it okay for targeting like I needed to turn joystick sensitivity down to 15% to stop overshooting targets. Using a joystick was great however and I imagine an xbox controller would work fine. It's worth the discounted price for singleplayer once it's working. It's really fun if you have the controls set up right and has great performance 60-80 fps on my Craptop. Multiplayer is very dead, but you can play vs AI which is fine by me. ---- It's a great game, but is not receiving any stability patches anymore. EA abandoned it.

[h1]Absolute scam.[/h1] The game acts up when you have more than 8 CPU cores. Worse yet, the EA app is required. If you're on Linux, you'll need to configure the compatibility settings until it [i]might[/i] work for you. Claims VR compatibility, but lacks any motion support? Lacks controller support? Really disappointing.

J’ai fait la campagne de Star Wars Squadrons et c’était sympa sans être incroyable. Les combats dans l’espace sont vraiment cool et l’ambiance Star Wars est bien réussie, mais l’histoire reste assez simple et parfois un peu répétitive. Ça se laisse jouer, surtout pour les fans de Star Wars, mais ça ne m’a pas marqué plus que ça. 3/5

Attempted to play several times. Reloaded and re-installed the game. No Success!

I'll be honest, I bought this game for the single player and have only tried a couple of multiplayer matches. Multiplayer seems mostly dead, but the story missions are fun and fleet battles against the AI are a lot of fun too, though it's a shame the fleet sizes are limited to 1 home ship and 2 cruisers. If you like Star Wars and the prospect of flying in very fleshed out space battles, I recommend it!

the game does not work anymore. not sure if its windows 11 related or because i got a new pc. i payed for this wonderful game and would love to play it ea. please fix this or just have one customer less in the future.

Bought this game for my old setup which regrettably, could not handle it. had to table the game for several years until recently i got myself a pretty spiffy RTX 5070 etc. rig. very nice. but upon installation of this game on this wonderous machine of human marvel, and subsequent crashing on startup every single boot, and double subsequent reddit searches I have come to find that the machine i have purchased IS TOO MUCH COMPUTER FOR THE GAME?!?!!?!?!?!?!? Excuse me in todays day in age what sense does it make that a CPU has TOO MANY CORES TO ACCOMPLISH A TASK???? I may not be a computer scientist but I do know that the general progression of technology is forward, not a full halt altogether. For complete clarity here this is frustration directed towards the game devs or possible a corporate entity looming overhead making sure that codding isnt optimized to run on all rigs. A warning to new players who want to purchase, my setup USED to not meet the minimum requirements for this game, and now that My rig exceeds the recomended hardware requirements, THE GAME SHOULD RUN BETTER THAN A RIG TESTED AT THOSE SPECS NOT WORSE TO NOT AT ALL!!
