It is amazing that this game holds up so well over 20 years since its release. Unlike some other games I have revisited as a kid this games story & writing are even better than I remember. One of the greatest games ever made that everyone should play like KOTOR1

its a genuinely amazing game, and I'm going to keep playing it, but I simply cannot recommend this game. it is far too unstable, even with TSLRCM, I have had to remove all the cutscenes, change a ton of things in the ini file, and it still crashes out of nowhere, I love this game but it is far too difficult to actually play the game without it crashing or sending you to a black screen

This is by far one of my favorite games! KOTOR 1 was my very first video game as a child and this is a worthy sequel! I am a huge fan of the updated game mechanics, especially for alignments and influence. For the bugs and slight story gaps, I highly recommend the TSLRCM and M4-78 combined mod on the steam workshop, but I think it's worth it to play the game at least once with just the base game! My only real gripe with the game is the lack of fleshed out romance arcs that were present in the original KOTOR, but I don't think that detracts from the game, just is something I would appreciate if it was included.

This game is more akin to wine snobbery than a great RPG. Everyone pretends to like it, hiding behind ambiguity and hoping no one calls it out. Ohh yes, this wine tastes of rich soil and tones of boot leather. No, you just wander around aimlessly for a literal 10 hours clicking everything in your path because if you dont you can miss a completely mundane object that will lock you out of progression. I gave it almost 50 hours. I tried, I really did, but it's nothing more than telling someone this wine is great because it tastes of boot leather and burnt toast. It's just that boot leather and burnt toast. Save your time and dont let people piss on your face and tell you it's raining. if its reminds you of your youth and better times, then I get it; however, this is by every metric a clunky, knuckle-dragging, painful-to-play RPG.
