This game is buggy. And has no reason to be over 60gigs in size
MULTIPLAYER IS COMPLETELY DEAD I ASSUME DUE TO ♥♥♥♥♥♥ LAUNCH. Do not purchase if even 1% of the reason for your purchase is to play multiplayer. That being said. I didn't play this at launch, so never experienced what was well-known to be disastrous. Likewise, I have no interest in playing multiplayer. I only wanted the singleplayer campaigns/galactic conquests modes. On my PC, the original games have aged very poorly. Constant crashing, resolution issues, etc. For me as of July 2025, this version of both games runs smoothly and gives me exactly what I wanted. It is too expensive. If they ever drop the price and you're looking for the best version of the og battlefront singleplayer experiences, this is the best option, in my opinion.

Listen... this was a dream i had for years.. .and I was stoked. I was so excited to play my fav game as a kid again and get to experience the online play of it once again like i did on my ps2 beside my dad.... This game is a kick to the teeth and the devs of this star wars branded cash grab should be ashamed for putting this out to the public. I played on release.... horrible experience, nothing worked... and since then I have been trying with every update.... and very Little has changed. I am now asking for my money back, knowing that I most likely wont. If you want to play the games, pay for the originals here on steam and look online for the materials to play it with others. Please do not support this broken cash grab.
I really wanted to love this game, but unfortunately it is just incomplete and buggy to the point that it's not worth the hassle when you can get the original copies of the two games in this bundle on steam anyways, and for cheaper! As someone that plays with a controller I did appreciate the controller support, but at this point I'd rather suffer through mapping my controller to keyboard and mouse inputs or get a mod for controller support than to try and make this game work, especially since the original games have extensive and mature mod support. I mostly played single player and am basing my review on that, simply because no one plays multiplayer anymore so I couldn't find matches when I was ready to try it out :( very sad about how this turned out, there was so much wasted potential.

i think if you want to roleplay playing with no internet on the ps2 like i did as a kid sure, get it, but not for the price point and as a "remaster" nothing really seems like it was freshened up. disappointing but this late to the party i knew what i was getting into
The game is still broken. I can't control any vehicles properly, which for me was the whole point of getting this game. They did not seem to have improved it. overall, disappointing. I remember loving the original game.

As of September 2025, this Collection, including two of the best Star Wars games ever made, is “serviceable” enough...if you’re playing locally. Adding split screen (something that wasn’t included in the 2004/2005 PC versions) was the major selling point for me. Now you can play ANY single player mode with someone in the same room, and that includes the whole story campaigns. Also, in BF2: Hero Assault, a mode where you can versus as any Hero or Villain, is available for every map (only ONE map was available back in the day). And speaking of heroes and maps, in BF2: new ones, that existed only in the OG Xbox version via download, are included here, and they absolutely rock! What are the downsides, then? The Collection came out broken, and now servers are empty, so multiplayers should keep away. And, overall: it feels LAZY. It's evident BF1 got WAY more love than BF2 here. BF1 feels pretty polished (no complains), whereas BF2's background main menu videos, FMV cutscenes and others are badly upscaled and HEAVILY artifacted; and even though the game has controller support now, the configuration screen for it is weird and the presets options bugged. It somehow works, though. All this makes me sad because BF2 is my favorite of the Battlefronts and maybe even Star Wars games in general. So, is this Collection a better option than the 2004/2005 classics? YES, but get it on sale. Hopefully Aspyr will finally listen and fix and refine this messy yet promising pack.
5/10 only playable on steam deck, forever tainted by bugs for a port.
