About
Hop into the driver's seat of your rocket-powered big rig as you haul cargo, scavenge for salvage and interact with an eclectic cast of star-hopping truckers in this Americana-infused journey on the ultimate open road - space!

Hi, this is Monster and Monster. Star Trucker is our tiny indie team's passion project, and we’re committed to making it the best intergalactic trucking game we can. By listening to the community, we’re working hard to improve the experience with every update. So buckle up and join us for the long haul!

Your truck is not a starship. We’ve taken typical vehicular controls then made sure zero-g momentum played a big part in maneuvers. The result is a unique driving experience that’s easy to pick up yet hard to master!
Cruise the hyper highways, taking on a variety of jobs such as fuel hungry long hauls and hazardous drop-offs to earn cash and unlock new content.
And don't forget to monitor the CB radio for chatter from fellow truckers; it's a fantastic way to uncover side gigs and stay updated on galactic gossip.

Keeping your rig runnin’ isn’t always easy. You’ll need to keep your core systems online, gravity compensator spinnin’ and hull patched to prevent your cab from leaking lung juice.
Be sure to make pre-trip shop stops for replacement parts, and consider upgrading your truck at a local garage. These improvements are vital for safely navigating volatile sectors and ensuring timely deliveries.

Use the galactic map to plan your journey and warp jumps, while keeping an eye on your fuel reserves and power levels.
Once your route is set, kick back, crank up the cab hi-fi and cruise to a selection of original songs covering starburst blues, galactic rock and asteroid infused americana. The open road is waiting!

This game has so much potential! But I wouldn't recommend it, not now. Star Trucker is a very interesting game, and one that I find interesting, but it feels quite dead to me. The system's are quite small and the loop of going from warp gate to warp gate is quite interesting. I also found myself confused with where to go at times, and think a HUD navigation system would be a good idea. A thing I particularly did not like is the movement. I found the control scheme to be ok, but everything feels much too drifty, and yes thats space! But other games have done this much better and I am not a fan of the way Star Trucker has implemented movement. I like the idea of having to manage all the different systems in the truck, but I really do dislike the power cell system. I dont think a truck would have separate power cells connected to each system, I think they would be connected to a singular power source. Ignoring that, I dont understand why you can't charge power cells! I spent 10 minutes trying to figure out how, only to find out online that you have to buy them, which is weird to me. A little note is that, I like the idea of warp gates, but they feel far too inconsequential. They are dotted around everywhere and again, systems are far too small. I also wish they were longer! I wanted to go around my ship to change around some power cells, maybe even doing some maintenance would be cool while warping, but warping only takes a few seconds. Just doesn't feel right to me. (The collisions also felt quite odd) This game does have a lot of potential, but as it is now, I found it frustrating and repetitive. I really wish I could say otherwise.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This game has cracking visuals and immersive management mechanics but falls short as a true "space trucker". As lots have already pointed out, so much of the game is spent in warp. Of course space is big, but games like Elite Dangerous is far bigger but you're not spending so much time in a loading screen. The ability to travel within systems would make things more fun. There's also the lack of lateral controls. How on earth do you release a spacecraft simulator without the ability to move your ship along the Y axis? It just adds extra challenge for no good reason. The story is pretty boring too. Lastly, I'm just not a fan of the design/style. The game's assets looks straight of Futurama or maybe a toy box with Earth-like trucks, gas stations, and highway signage floating in space. I had hoped for something more like Cowboy Bebop with more imaginative designs, especially the "trucks".
I've never played a game like this. I thought it would be grindy and boring. Finding it grindy and fun. A++ would space job again :) check it out!
Coming from games like X4 foundations and Elite dangerous I very quickly found myself disliking the flight model, a lack of vertical thrusters make the truck feel more like flying a fixed wing aircraft then a space ship. In addition when at speed turning is very "floaty" which I can understand given its suppose to be a truck but difficult to excuse when the issue remains when unladen with cargo. The first major docking procedure has you reverse the ship into a fairly forgiving lock area which would be fine assuming you had a break that wasn't the emergency break (which largely vents your oxygen) and again a lack of vertical thruster, overall making this likely soon to be routine task a doable but fairly miserable experience. The game looks good stylistically and the voice acting is cheesy in a good way for the vibe its going for but sadly I just cant get past the flight model. If you don't find that an issue you will likely have some fun but unfortunately its not the game for me.
When I was a kid I really wanted to be a trucker. I even got up early on Sundays to watch a TV show called 'Travel Well, Trucker'. Later I lost interest and the likes of Euro Truck Simulator never really picked my interest. But a trucksim in space? That might be my cup of tea! And this is more simulator than a casual game about trucking. Playing on the recommended difficulty will show you that. With the meagre gains at the start and the game barely explaining its systems to you, it can feel unforgiving. Luckily there's a custom difficulty to change many parameters, from how fast your power cells drain to how expensive the fines are. So if you want a casual, more narrative experience you can have it. Talking about narrative, I was not expecting such a good story and cast of characters. Mind you, it's nothing mind-blowing or very deep. It has some very tropey aspects, but it's so well executed it just works. All characters are fully and well voiced. Gameplay progression is tied to story progression, but you have a large margin to just do your thing, no rush. The game has plenty of zones and there's a good variety there: from cookie-cutter planet orbits to beautiful nebulas, from dark space to asteroid fields, from hell holes to intriguing vistas. Some zones have special 'weather' that require an specfic upgrade and pose different challenges. Solar flares can cook you in your cabin and make visibility difficult, electrical storms can fry your truck's systems and damage sensitive cargo and anomalies are basically invisible asteroids you need to 'scan' in order to navigate safely. Another thing this game nails are the radios. There's an original radio with some good stuff, but I loved that you can listen to actual online radios inside the game, seamlessly! Lots of 90s and 2000s hits there so it felt pretty nostalgic and kept me going when I'd otherwise stop playing for the day. I highly recommend you play this mixing keyboard & mouse (for menus and first-person) and a controller (for steering your truck). There's a big update on the works (expected by April at the earliest) that will add more sidejobs and cabin interior customization. It'll be the perfect excuse to replay this awesome game. Lastly, this game was made mostly by 2 dudes. That's impressive!
For a 2 year old game it is still riddled with janky mechanics. The manual says one thing and the reality and the way the world feels is not the best. Shame for what is fun but becomes annoying
Warp simulator. Most of the time you're warping which is a loading screen the driving part is very little actually unless you just drive in circles around around an area. Wish it was the other way around.
No real driving/flying. I regret buying this game.
