About
Formerly known as Post Scriptum, Squad 44 is the most authentic WW2 first-person shooter, featuring 20 large-scale battlefields, upwards of 150 realistic WW2 weapons, and over 120 true-to-life vehicles. You must prioritize communication, coordination, and teamwork to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.
Experience real WW2 campaigns, such as the liberation of the Netherlands and the Battle of Normandy. The war stretched across farms, villages, and cities, and whether you’re jumping out of a plane, arriving by sea, or storming the battlefield in a tank, you’ll need to group up with your squad before taking on the enemy.
Fight as historic WW2 factions like the British 1st Airborne Division, the US 4th Infantry Division, and the French Army to take on the German Wehrmacht, the Waffen SS, and Fallschirmjägers. Other factions include the Australian Army, the Greek Royal Hellenic Army, the New Zealand Military Forces, the British Army, and the Polish Airborne Forces.
In Squad 44, teamwork is paramount to achieving victory. Enroll as a commander and order gun runs or artillery to support your team. Join the frontline as one of the many infantry roles. Run logistics and shape the battlefield with fortifications and emplacements. And keep everyone on the battlefield updated with our in-game voice chat. Talk directly with your entire squad or use the local proximity chat to talk to players nearby and help the flow of battle.
Be the scourge of the battlefield in one of the most feared monsters of WW2: the armored tank. Join a battalion with three other players and crew realistic steel beasts as the driver, gunner, or commander. Every vehicle in Squad 44 has been painstakingly created to represent the real tanks that roamed the battlefields of 1940s Europe. Each one features authentic functionality and armaments, meaning one thing: complete devastation to the enemy’s frontlines.
Experience the authentic reproduction of an incoming Stuka siren or artillery cannons firing from afar. The piercing sound of an incoming heavy round cutting through the air past you. The cracks of bullets and shrapnel. Squad 44 was designed with every little detail created with the utmost authenticity to the real-life weapons, vehicles, and battlefields used at the time. Don’t just play a game; experience the intense WW2 tactical military action of Squad 44.

The game is borderline dead but it is really fun. Way more realistic than HHL and definitely has the squad feel. I think it's a good balance. There is almost always 1 completely full server with a few more getting players during peak hours. You can play the game but expect slim pickin's.
Small playerbase, game is not particularly optimized, but oh boy is the immersion worth every penny. Sound design, pace of play, design/detail, and team communication are what makes this game thrive.
The game had a "Singleplayer" tag. It is in no way single player.
The best ww2 simulator there is. I can't understand why people choose HLL over this... This game is so DAMN good, lets save Squad 44 (Post Scriptum forever) Please give it a try if this is your kind of genre, if its not then refund it. You won't regret it.
ahh a 20gb update for... a 100gb game for...... well nothing. fix your install size you lazy peices of ♥♥♥♥
Dead game, runs fine i guess, wont ever TRULY know because all but one EU server is dead. Literally try all the time and still no US servers with more than 10 people... GREAT JOB DEVS!
Squad 44 (formerly Post Scriptum) is a tactical online shooter that strongly focuses on teamwork, communication, and realistic combat during World War II. Unlike many fast-paced arcade shooters, the game emphasizes slow, methodical gameplay and a high level of immersion. Visually, Squad 44 offers large and detailed maps, authentic uniforms, numerous realistic weapon models, as well as a wide variety of vehicles and playable classes. The battlefields feel alive and create a believable sense of historical locations. The sound design is particularly impressive: gunfire, artillery, radio chatter, and vehicles create a dense atmosphere that truly makes you feel like you are in the middle of a battlefield. However, the true core of the game lies in teamwork. Players are organized into squads and must work together to capture objectives, build defensive positions, and secure supplies. Communication through voice chat and radio is essential and should be seen as a core gameplay mechanic. Good squad leaders and strong cooperation between infantry players often make the difference between victory and defeat. This creates a level of strategic depth that many other shooters lack. The entry barrier can be quite challenging, as players need to actively engage with the simulation-style gameplay and be willing to follow orders. To be clear: this is not Battlefield, not Call of Duty, and not Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. New players must first get used to the complex mechanics, the slower pace, and the heavy reliance on teamwork. Without a cooperative squad and proper coordination between different units—logistics, infantry, commanders, and armored crews—the gameplay experience can suffer significantly. However, when this dynamic works, it creates a multiplayer experience that I personally have never experienced in any other game. Squad 44 is not about grinding experience points, unlocking skins, or collecting cosmetic rewards. Instead, the focus is entirely on the gameplay experience itself and the cooperation between squad members. Overall, Squad 44 is an excellent tactical shooter for players who appreciate realistic combat, teamwork, and strategic gameplay. Those looking for fast, simple action or expecting a perfectly polished game may not enjoy it as much. However, fans of military simulation and coordinated multiplayer gameplay will definitely find a lot to love here. Unfortunately, the game urgently needs new players, as the community has become relatively small over time. With some luck, one or two servers are usually populated in the evenings. Despite this, I personally always have a great time playing the game.
Still riddled with the same bugs as it had 2 years ago. Players being stuck in objects after reviving is unacceptable when only one and a half maybe one and a half servers are full on a friday afternoon. I am not gonna sit in a fifteen minute q to play the game then kill myself after getting stuck only to fight my way back to where I already was. As much as people want this game to survive it never will when basic things like this aren't fixed after being an issue for so long.
