About
Species: Unknown is a first-person survival horror game, playable in co-op with up to 4 players (private or public servers) or solo. You play as a mercenary sent aboard an abandoned spaceship. Your job? Execute high-risk contracts, make it out alive, and claim your reward. But keep in mind that you’re not alone. Something is hunting you…
Form a squad of up to 4 players to take on different contracts with escalating difficulty. Each mission plays differently depending on your objective, your teammates, the map and which of the 5 intelligent threats is stalking you. No one survives alone, but you can try.

Proximity Chat & Radio are available: distance matters, walls matter. Proximity Chat is bringing more tension, sometimes chaos, and unforgettable moments to your co-op sessions.

Every contract drops you into a different nightmare. Whether you're tasked with extracting a black box, capturing or eliminating an unknown threat, or even destroying the ship to prevent the creature from escaping… Each mission demands a specific strategy and none of them are easy.
The specimen is chosen procedurally from a growing roster of terrifying monsters. Each one comes with distinct behaviors, hunting patterns, strengths, and weaknesses. You’ll need to investigate your surroundings to gather vital clues and identify the threat in order to proceed smoothly (or not). Do your job and get rewarded, or die without anyone knowing.

Strategize as a group, make smart use of your tools that can turn the tide, if only for a moment:
Motion Tracker : Detect nearby movement and prepare for what's coming
Shield : Block deadly attacks and buy time for your team
Health Syringe : Heal yourself or allies in the heat of battle
Mini-Map : Navigate pitch-black corridors with real-time positional data
Guns won’t always save you. Some threats are too resistant or simply untouchable. But the right weapon, found at the right time, can help you push through or even take the creature down.

The higher the risk, the higher the reward. Completing contracts earns you credits you can use to:
Upgrade your gear
Buy new tools
Customize your appearance
Gather lore and build your own creature museum

Game that is good, yes Ed boy
Put those filthy Xenos in a cage where they belong.
it was good
was fun for like 2 hours then the grind feeling set in
An amazing take on the friend-slop survival horror genre. Genuinely has terrifying moments, some amazing specimens that are unique and engaging with a Phasmophobia esque system of figuring out what you're dealing with and how to approach the threat. At this stage of early access I've found the game to be stable with gorgeous graphics and audio design. There are certain elements that 100% need more fleshing out (more maps, weapons, maybe specimen variations and maybe roles/classes). I definitely think the hub needs redesigned as it is honestly just irritating to navigate.
4 hours on this game at this point of my review and this is panic horror with ALOT of potential and exited to see what is in store for this game and the Graphics are amazing
I'm currently 35 hours into this 10 dollar game, it looks and plays like a 30 dollar triple A game at a minimum. 5 hours into playing this game I already decided to buy the supporter pack, This game is an absolute blast with friends I look forward to playing it every time I launch it, around 30 hours or so you'll probably have everything unlocked. For 10 dollars and 30 hours of great fun with friends its already definitely worth every penny, it just leaves so much to be desired I cannot wait for more content with this game. This game is a def recommend for me
8/10 A game with great fundamentals, quality, and a unique gameplay loop. As is in early access the game is lacking some replayability like in Phasmophobia and Outlast Trials. Despite this I am very hopeful for the future of this game. For 10 Dollars this was 100% worth the purchase.
I tried out the demo and really enjoyed the simple mission run and extract action. Downloaded the game and got to play with a great community of players there were welcoming and after each mission threw me extra money so I could by person upgrades and ship upgrades. Really felt welcoming. :) Sad news... I have been playing it for a few days now and I get in maybe 2-3 games before needing to go adult. I started to notice a bit of disorientation that I assume is from the flashing lights and shaking of the ship and camera during the transitions between take off and docking on the to be explored ship. Last time I had this was when planetside was in beta. I know they changed a few things and it later did not bother me. Hope that knowledge helps! I hope to play more in the future but may limit myself to one game every few days.
This game falls under steam/friend slop. Invited my friend to play the game with us and he crashed out and no longer plays video games. Just a generic hide from monster game, you can easily cheese every monster. No depth to the game. Fun for about 10 hours max.
