About
Species: Unknown is a first-person survival horror game, playable in co-op with up to 4 players (private or public servers) or solo. You play as a mercenary sent aboard an abandoned spaceship. Your job? Execute high-risk contracts, make it out alive, and claim your reward. But keep in mind that you’re not alone. Something is hunting you…
Form a squad of up to 4 players to take on different contracts with escalating difficulty. Each mission plays differently depending on your objective, your teammates, the map and which of the 5 intelligent threats is stalking you. No one survives alone, but you can try.

Proximity Chat & Radio are available: distance matters, walls matter. Proximity Chat is bringing more tension, sometimes chaos, and unforgettable moments to your co-op sessions.

Every contract drops you into a different nightmare. Whether you're tasked with extracting a black box, capturing or eliminating an unknown threat, or even destroying the ship to prevent the creature from escaping… Each mission demands a specific strategy and none of them are easy.
The specimen is chosen procedurally from a growing roster of terrifying monsters. Each one comes with distinct behaviors, hunting patterns, strengths, and weaknesses. You’ll need to investigate your surroundings to gather vital clues and identify the threat in order to proceed smoothly (or not). Do your job and get rewarded, or die without anyone knowing.

Strategize as a group, make smart use of your tools that can turn the tide, if only for a moment:
Motion Tracker : Detect nearby movement and prepare for what's coming
Shield : Block deadly attacks and buy time for your team
Health Syringe : Heal yourself or allies in the heat of battle
Mini-Map : Navigate pitch-black corridors with real-time positional data
Guns won’t always save you. Some threats are too resistant or simply untouchable. But the right weapon, found at the right time, can help you push through or even take the creature down.

The higher the risk, the higher the reward. Completing contracts earns you credits you can use to:
Upgrade your gear
Buy new tools
Customize your appearance
Gather lore and build your own creature museum

A lot of fun and tons of potential, the various specimens are all fun to fight and flee from and the missions types are nicely designed. The lighting effects are especially nice and fumbling around in the dark while the specimens close in is scary as hell. Well worth palying even with just one other person.
I've had fun playing so far. I really like the idea. There's a few options to complete any given mission. Difficulty feels pretty well balanced. A little more nuance with the specimens, for example: Certain specimens predicting that you need to turn the power back on during unstable power, and meeting you there. I'm looking forward to more. So far, the ship's little puzzles and challenges have been enjoyed by us so far. Edit: Had some "Aha" moments playing on max difficulty last night. The ghost specimen waited by the power when I was trying to get there early. Felt eerie and satisfying. Otherwise, the runs are feeling very similar. I look forward to how things will be spiced up over time. As for the upgrades, perhaps being tankier can come with drawbacks of being slower or louder. Perhaps an upgradeable weight or you get a certain amount of upgrades to carry, so that the choice matters more. Great things ahead.
great game but its a bit to repetitive id like to see more added to what the creatures can do but over all i will be playing this more and more with each and every update. great game good job
Probably one of my top favorite multiplayer games, even closely competes with Phas which has been sitting at mine and my friends top multiplayer game. There is always some quirky thing happening in a mission with us and it always results in a night full of laughs and jump scares. The zombie scorpion has remained as one of our favorite specimens to go up against, while the new specimen definitely upped the frantic spazzing for us (and a fun game I call ring around the safety box xD). I am definitely excited at the upcoming road map with the having a new map and then another specimen on the docket. It will be a fun adventure to see where they go with the game for sure.
Muy entretenido en coop, buenos graficos, partidas rapidas de 20 a 30 min aprox para el precio que tiene muy recomendado.....si siguen añadiendo mapas, criaturas, armas, etc..... se quedara un juego de 10
