IDK how this mid game got a sequel

Ok, so this version of the game was fine enough for me to enjoy the underlying product for a while... and then later, buggy issues got to me... so I downloaded certain mods which helped with that... but toward the end of the game I was frustrated with some level design flaws. I figured life was too short, and I watched a longplay for the final stage of Sonic's story and the final stage and boss after you complete everybody's story (there are multiple playable characters - and I beat the other ones). So, any game that's frustrating enough for me to not finish cannot get a recommendation. However... there are many many many good points to this game. If you embrace the cheese (by reading up on past Sonic titles and watching some cartoons, first - and then being tolerant toward the corny acting etc), then there is some very interesting storytelling techniques that happen on here. And some of the platformer sections are quite enjoyable (especially if you experiment with an original Dreamcast controller or with a new controller with TMR sticks - both feel better than traditional). There just might come a point where you're... done.... So, if you want to play a bit and then switch to a longplay - and you don't mind spending money on such an experience... then sure, switch my thumbs down to a mild thumbs up. It was a mild thumbs up for me, personally, due to the fact that when the platforming and story are good, they are darn good. But again, I'm not going to tell people to buy a game that I myself couldn't finish.
