F U N ! Very janky, but enjoyable.

Great once you mod the game (use "SA Mod Manager"), otherwise emulating the og Dreamcast version is probably better experience. It says I've played 30m, but after running the mod, it creates a copy of the game external to Steam, so play time doesn't get recorded after that. With widescreen, with frame pacing fixed and running at the smooth 60 fps, and with updated textures, the game runs great and this is the best version. If you played this game back in the day, you'll love this (fixed) version. If you're new to this game, expect to fight through a bit of jank. This was the first true 3D Sonic game (3D Blast doesn't count) and they were still figuring out camera systems. If you've only played modern, polished 3D games that are the product of 30 years of camera control evolution and innovation, you might get a little frustrated. But, this game has a lot of heart and I think is worth a play. The story links together the levels and doesn't overstay its welcome. Just enough to explain what tf is going on, and you're on your way. The sense of speed is a lot of fun, and the freedom the game gives you to go off the rails and either screw up massively or execute a crazy shortcut: I love games like this. The game does not hold your hand when it comes to the gameplay. From a nostalgic perspective, I give the game a 9/10. Without that, I would probably give this a 6 or 7 out of 10--still above average. Especially if you're a Sonic fan, you'll like this game.
