simple set up but very fun to play
Bug infested, abandoned mess...do not bother with this. Even at low-price it is not worth your time to play. No updates since April 2017.
no mod support and is kinda stale after a while
ok
I really like the whole go to Mas and build a colony game genre. Because of this, i wanted to like this game too. But, i'm dissapointed. The base mechanics are there to make it work, but somehow it does not. Colonists die too easily, for example just a bit of air leak and half of the base is dead, even though it only affected 1 small section The base building need too much micromanagement. You can only attach new buildings to existing ones, and to the correct intersections, and when you build something, you have to manually open it's doors, so oxygen and colonists can flow. Similarly, you have to manually close these in case of an air leak. The game can be grindy, and to achieve the goals, well you just have to spam the same 3 buildings, so it is not that deep. And you have to wait a lot. A lot. Becausye every production is slow and how much you can build is really limited. Also disaster mechanics are terrible. No way to protect yourself, but one random hurricane can just wipe out your whole base. great game
The framework for a great game exists but there are just far too many frustrating quirks: (1) not being able to automate miners, (2) mining resources seems buggy or the graphic representation is inaccurate i.e. high color indicator but miner does not recognize this (3) code breaks related to placing facilities along the edge of the map i.e. astronauts cannot repair (4) mini game for Biology Lab genetic mixing is a waste as there is not enough information to figure this out without trial and error. This should be included in the tutorial. Currently if you use up your strains there appears to be no way to resupply them meaning you are stuck for the remainder of the game with whatever level you achieved with the combination you applied. Took trial and error to discover the final strain is applied at the farmer not in the lab. (5). Refinery upgrades do improve efficiency but why is there no way to upgrade the miner to dig for deeper deposits where graphic representation of mineral shows residual amounts left. (6). Why doesn't the Biology Lab have an upgrade to tackle a cure for blight? (7). Astronauts sleep inside so why can't they route through the station for repairs when not carrying materials? (8). Why isn't there an upgrade for O2 Generators that can address overheating? Maybe add a Materials Lab? (9). Why isn't there an upgrade for Recyclers to address continuous ruptures? Add an armor upgrade via the Geology Lab or add in a Materials Lab? (10). Bulldozers and Mining Units should have better routing if not actual in mode to perform a task (BTW which should be automated) If you just want to have some fun this is a perfect game for casual players. If you do enjoy this a better version though not without its own quirks is "Surviving Mars" and its DLCs.
