A point and click adventure in visual novel style. This is the second chapter, the first is called: NAIRI: Tower of Shirin. Graphics with very bold colors and hand-made, I think it is ideal because it reflects the strong and determined character of the protagonist. There are various locations to visit but unfortunately you feel the lack of a general map, you will only have the local one available. Most of the game is based on dialogues, believe me there are really many characters that you will have the opportunity to meet, some will join your mission while others will hinder you. In the inventory we find many objects, there is also a section for DIY, using a hammer, glue and knife Nairi reassembles broken objects. The puzzles are concentrated in 2 sections: The Tower of Vaeir and Schism; they are quite difficult also because there are several floors and to unlock the door on a floor you have to look for scattered objects and solve puzzles, so you will find yourself walking through the same rooms several times. The game gives you the option to skip these parts and limit yourself to the story. The soundtrack is well made, it seems tailor-made for this story. Be careful, don't forget to look carefully in all the places you visit because they hide coins, there are 300, if you collect them you can use them to buy the hand-carved figurines, collect them all. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED READ THE PLOT: Nairi is a smart and brave girl, she lives in the upper districts of her city. Her father is the master of the Lunar Council, a group of people who together with the Solar Council govern the city. But the working class of the lower districts and the merchant districts, no longer accept being subjugated by the rich rulers; they founded a rebel group called The Rising. Nairi asks Rex for help, a former gangster now become a scholar to find her parents unjustly arrested because of a plot against them. SHiro, son of the master Solare, also comes to her aid, their task is not easy, they will have to find people willing to ally themselves with the rebels in order to make more humane laws for everyone. Nairi's sympathy infects many and they will find many friends willing to help. While visiting the Tower of Shirin she will discover dark mysteries, there is talk of an ancient people, the Noorians had predicted that a Great Storm is coming, and only Nairi is able to stop it because she is the one designated for this task.
Cute game, just sad that took them more than 6 years since the first chapter (Tower of Shirin)... Hope that I don't need to wait for another 6 years for the next chapter
Overall solid point and click + puzzle experience with a few things that arent enough for a negative review, but are closer to a "yeah i like it, but theres definitely things that annoyed me"
Minor Spoilers, so be warned! Also while im not talking about how the ending or story developed, i am talking about how they made me feel, and what i think of them, but i dont go into details about story or ending!
What i liked here: + really liked the characters + the art was cute and well made, with as far as i can tell no repeating set pieces + soundtrack was pretty neat, and didnt get too repetitive + the overall conversations and humor were great + i enjoyed the collecting and clicking What i didnt like, and what makes this more of a "harder to recommend than i would like": - after finally getting the full game, it doesnt have a good ending, and is just a "well i guess you gotta buy the next one hehe", which felt kinda underwhelming. - crafting! omg crafting is a pain. sometimes you just click an item on another. sometimes you ned the hammer, sometimes you do the same thing with a different item, but now DONT need the hammer. its so much guesswork. - schism is pure padding for time. some ppl say they took like 15+ horus. and honestly halfway through schism i looked up a guied. not because i couldnt do it. its not hard. just to be as efficient as possible with room manuevering. because HOLY DAMN THATS A LOT OF BACK AND FORTH TRACKING. go blue, move 3 rooms, pick up key, go all the way back, go red, use key, take thing, go all the way back, go blue again, go where you got the key from, use item, go all the way back, go red again, go where you just were in blue, but now in red, do thing... ... ... IT FELT LIKE ABSOLUTELY ENDLESS BACKTRACKING. Without guides and just from playing some point and clicks, i went to schism in like 4 hours, and then almost took the same time just to do the last part of the game. and having that be my last hours with the game "stuck in infinite backtrack loop" was not a good feeling when the credits rolled, and basically 0 happened in the story so far. - also the sudden character switch up/betrayal felt like it only happened to justify another game. Game time: 7.4 hours Backtracking time in the last part: ~2.5 hours If you dont have enough game to present, please give it another few months to cook. Because till schism i wanted to give it a 8.5/10. after schism a 5/10. which i only endured to get a cool ending.... like dont get me wrong, the "end" slides were cool. but getting no real end after all that time padding felt BAD. Why do i still recommend? because the game is still neat, and a really cool indie project, that has cool art, neat ideas, and a lot of love behind it. i just cant say the same for the last arc. so if you guys wanna play this, just use a guide for the last story arc, and dont expect an ending, or being further in the story than you were in the beginning. 7.5/10, was really close to being amazing, but dropped it a bit in the second half. still edible, and still had a good time (but fug schism)
Recomendo demais! I was really looking forward to this chapter and now I'm desperate for the next one! I loved the puzzles, the new characters and how the story followed! Definitely one of my favorite games right now! I highly recommend it!
Such a great game! The story picks up right where the last one left off, and it’s way deeper and more intense than I expected. Yeah, some of the hints were a bit off, and a few puzzles felt unnecessarily tricky, but you can totally tell the devs poured their hearts into this. Can’t wait to see what they bring in Chapter 3! BTW, if you like this art style, be sure to checkout the anime "Hakumei and Mikochi" - vice versa!
The puzzles are engaging. Some are difficult but with a little patience can be overcome. It is a good game for relaxing and taking one's time to play. It plays the same as Nairi: Tower of Shirin. So there is very little change in the graphics. The developers maintained the same look and feel with the same performance. Hopefully there is a continuation/third installment.
Hhh)
