About
Skid Cities is a Cyberpunk City Building game. A sandbox where the mechanics and dynamics of a city follow a distorted, dark, twisted future. Build slums, incredibly high skyscrapers, cyborg nests, secret service black sites, factories, and more. Develop your city underground, or keep building on top of your city until you reach the clouds. Your city can be utopian or dystopian. Up to you.

The year is 2092. What used to be the United States is now divided into three main Trade Authorities. The rising sea levels have changed coastal landscapes worldwide and spurred the creation of multiple sea-only independent countries. Europe is still recovering from its civil war, 20 years after it. The rich are getting richer, augmenting their brains with technology. Androids are being produced at a scale never seen before. The world will not stop because of your city. You will have to navigate all of this as it happens.
There is no limit to where your city can develop. Up in the sky? Just build tower bases and vertical streets. Deep underground, Asimov style? You can build up to 100 underground levels below your city. And it's not just aesthetic: Your levels will influence desirability levels, industry, and each other.
Who said that dystopia is bad? You can make your city dystopic or utopian, up to you. You can also create areas of your city that are utopian and others that are dystopian. Your city will adjust based on that, no judgment.
As your city grows, it will attract attention from the rest of the world. Evil corporations may look into moving offices or even their headquarters into your city. Oh, organized crime may want to do that as well. They will for sure be an influence on your city - wanted or not. You can try to kick them out, embrace them, or flat-out ignore them.

Дуже сира гра, але з чудовим потенціалом. Сподобалося відображення теріторіі EETA (спойлер: з Украінським тризубом) ^^
early access and really unstable. instability increases the further you build up the city. things become stickier or unresponsive till the whole thing eventually freezes completely or you cant put anything down or remove anything and reloading gets forever stuck with a corrupted save. for the gameplay itself, there's a weird thing as things upgrade themselves automatically when combined with appropriate cyberpunk devices, but this also means if you run a too tight budget and you try to move something somewhere else, you'll trigger a cascade where all the stuff around it will downgrade, and you lose income from the downgrade and thus forced to remove more and more till half your city is gone and your maitenance cost is still too high. i recommend 10% taxes on everything first then incriment down
Not bad! Hope the dev sticks with it!
It's okay, but can't say much. All can say is that the tutorial is terrible. They have no voice over or a way to display to the player on what button to even press. For the price at £19.00 GBP, I would ask players to watch YouTube videos before ordering this game. I did not have much time playing this game with me playing on a laptop, so all I can share is very little information about this game.
Yeah, I support trickle down economics, as in the used sewage water must trickle down from the sky villa down to the underground slums.
placing trash dumps next to people is the best thing, of course cannibalism is better, but still a good game :)
TLDR: Do not buy, the performance is that bad, and the game isn't even agent based. I like the theme, o at least the idea. The tutorial, as part of optional missions system is a good idea. But everything else is, well, annoying. It starts with little things - the site selection includes "animated" bars - you have to wait few seconds after changing location for them to show actual value. Building road - the most common action is 2 levels deep in menu. I placed my first upper level platform as top edge of map - surprise, you can't actually move you camera so far up (it is limited by lower level), the only option to place buildings there is too zoom out or rotate map. But it gets worse when it comes to map layers - you need it to place buildings that impact crime and other factors. It loads very slowly, even with tiny city literally 10 minutes old. And then it keeps recalculating (or not, it is random and not related to camera movement). Of course the areas that aren't currently calculated show as "zero" - so you kinda have wait until map "stabilises" and sometimes it doesn't - for a second you see a hotspot, and then all indicators disappear and it starts to calculate again. Edit: I kept building only residential buildings for some time. Despite 95% unemployment, the residential demand is still high. So the simulation can't handle basic RCI, the staple of genre for 30 years. On other hand it does slow the game to crawl, 50k pop already causes random freezes during UI operation like placing a new road.
Неплохой градострой в сеттинге киберпанка.Главная фишка-подземное и надземное строительство инфраструктуры
Really like how this unique city builder is developing, the possibilities for expansion are a lot of fun. I can't recommend it for the average player (yet) at full price but if you enjoy the genre and laid back game play then probably yeah. Easy to lose an afternoon in the quest to build up up up
An amazing city building game! full of potential, the cyberpunk mechanics are super cool, I haven't had this fun building my dream dystopian city since Sim City 3000
