This is a Mobile Port to VR...but it works Really well in VR (I Used Oculus RIFT + Touch)
REVIEW
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yB8N3GdKujU The tutorial is a little lacklustre, my advice do NOT hold your hands in-front of you as suggested (doesn't feel right). Instead, as soon as you pull down to start, put both hands straight out behind your back and then complete as instructed; might just be me but feels way more realistic that way...And I have to say this game DOES feel REALISTIC. I only ever watch Ski Jumping in the Winter Olympics, so once every 4 years. It is fair to say i am not a massive fan of the sport, but having played this and really got into it (over a single season of about 1 hour) I really do like ski jumping, at least in VR. It is kind of exhilarating and I like the technical aspect of it, a small mistake can be the difference between 1st and 31st (and 31st IS Significant in this sport). If you like Ski Jumping already & have VR then BUY it you wont regret it. If you only watch Ski Jumping once every 4 years You might like it, so consider it in the sales. If you don't like VR or sports like this........why are you reading this review?? Good game, but I wish it had MP or at least competitive offline mode for friends to compete. Officially they do not support Oculus, but I used my Oculus RIFT + Touch without issue..so maybe the devs should look into this.
GAMEPLAY - My Camera broke 50% through - sorry
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t550uMQ3WKc&t=75s
Really random. There was no way to predict whether your doing things was too early or too late. Sometimes I launched perfectly at 2 seconds. Sometimes I launched too early at 1 second.
If you like simulation games in VR this one isn't bad. Actual game is better than expected and clearly made by an experienced developer. The graphics are good but the mobile roots show (doesn't effect immersion too much). It still looks good and there are many different slopes that all look unique. Replays are cool to watch and analyze your jump. It's a real game too with career mode and you money to upgrade your gear. The biggest issue is is that it's not roomscale. It's like 3dof game where the environment moves with your head which y hurts immersion and almost makes you sick. I can understand 3dof when you're on the slope to lock you in place but the whole game is like that, which is annoying. Would be better to have a recenter button like a norma VR game. If it weren't for that and the slight mobile look it might be worth full price. But instead it feels slightly awkward at first. but you get used to it. After that the game is fun.
Non compatible avec Valve index. Bloqué sur le menu sans possibilité d'interaction
Game does not support the Valve Index, for no reason whatsoever. You can start the game on it, but you have zero controls, as the game does not recognize inputs from the Index controllers.
That's very surprising, looking at other reviews, but this game is actually pretty good. It works perfectly fine with HP Reverb G2 V2 (although it shows Vive controllers in game). Sure, the controls aren't perfect for what real ski jumpers do, but it makes sense for headsets with inside-out tracking, as you wouldn't be able to use your hands behind you. You sit on the starting bench, look at the wind, push yourself when the wind is good by moving your controllers down or actually crouching, then you balance them up and down to keep balance during sliding down. To jump you move your controllers up (I move them really high), then you move your hands apart to make a V with your hands so the skijumper makes V pose and balance left and right controller up and down to keep level. For landing I just crouch and move my controllers down. You earn money and stars for playing events, if you finish high, your flow rises, if you finish low it drops (also affects your performance). For the money you unlock better equipment and train your skills, so you can jump better (there's 5 attributes for each part of jump, like aerodynamics, style for better V position, landing skills, etc.). The levels are beautiful - there are blimps flying above, air balloons, you can see northern lights in Norway. I really like the visuals. But the game isn't perfect. it feels a bit junky and pretty fast I started winning everything in the Continental Cup. I didn't try World Cup, 4 hills tournament, team cup, Ski Flying Cup, etc. yet (just unlocked them after winning the Continental Cup), but most likely it's more of the same. I really enjoy jumping in this game, though, but price definitely should be lower (sometimes you can find it cheaper in 3rd party stores like GreenManGaming), as it's very unpolished and you can even see inside the game that game version is actually v0.11. nie stety nie moge grac za pomoca myszki
I recommend this game, if you can get the controllers to work. I'm using the HP Reverb G2 and at first was very disappointed, as I had no control. I have a theory on peripherals and computer games. Sometimes they need time to get acquainted so to speak. Using that logic, I just kept pressing buttons and moving around and voila, they kicked in. I'm still early in the game, but so far it's a blast.
