SJ-19 Learns To Love!

This is a very nice little Metroidvania, I'm yet to finish it, but I can tell you with certainty already that this game is very much worth it. The artstyle is cute and progression is marked, is there more to ask from a metroidvania to have fun? :)

Fun and short. Best enjoyed without the soundtrack. Has a couple of grammatical errors, mostly not using apostrophes in contractions.

After trying two metroidvanias that turned out to be terrible (Frauki's adventure and catmaze) I had low expectations for SJ-19. However, this turned out to be actually good. It's got a good story, and good gameplay at the expense of content, graphics, and sound effects. The only downside is that the game is a bit overpriced and it has to be bought on sale.

A short and easy to 100% metroidvania with a cute story and fun bosses. Graphics felt way too simple in the beginning, but I got used to them and they have their own charm to them. The only thing that spoils the experience are the default keyboard controls that only utilise one half of the keyboard, so you either have to play with your hands really close together, which isn't very comfortable, or use just one hand for everything and hope cramps will arrive later than sooner. Luckily, the game lets you change the bindings to your liking. Don't forget to enable auto-shoot, too. Unless you're masochistic and want even more hand cramps.

SJ-19 é um jogo incrível para quem quer resgatar a grande era dos metroidvanias simples e charmosos em bits. Sendo um jogo feito por duas pessoas, é bem completo e com uma mecânica já consolidada. As fases são rápidas, o mapa é bem construído, as músicas e as cores acolhem o andar do robozinho, os chefes são de dificuldade mediana e todos os diálogos são cheios de vida. Uma ótima aventura para uma tarde qualquer.

When I first downloaded this game, I almost immediately found a game-killing bug involving the keybindings. It caused me to have no 'accept' button and no way to reset my buttons, even by uninstalling and reinstalling the game. I refunded the game and posted a negative review. The developer then picked up my review, researched the issue, added a fix to the game, and posted a courteous reply to my review (which was also cross-posted by someone in a bug reporting forum). I therefore bought the game again, confirmed the keybinding fix worked, and am giving it another try. I haven't played long enough to have a strong opinion of the game itself, but the developer deserves a positive review for their response to my bug report.

10/10. Wish these guys would make a full length metroidvania. It would be fire.

Es increíble lo que puede dar de sí un estilo gráfico que parece salido de una ATARI 2600. Es un juego muy divertido tipo Metroidvania. Eso sí, hay que tener estómago para jugar con estos gráficos minimalistas pero en todo moemnto muy sugerentes.

Short but super cute, reccomended! Takes less than 2 hours to 100% btw
