About
So tiny, that the screen resolution is only 160x90!
It's so small that you can also complete the game in a single session!
Traverse and backtrack through meticulously crafted pixels of caves, jungles, labs, ruins, and more.
Almost every room has a hidden item or a secret path. Can you find them all?
Missiles, Claw, Ball-Mode and more!
Equip Microcards to modify your weapons and abilities. Create your own play style. Just make sure you've found enough Microcells to power them.
Don’t worry about saving your progress - the game will create a checkpoint every time you enter a room, and you will spawn back here if you die.
And quitting to the main menu will save your game where you are, so you can jump right back in on your next session.

Designed for controllers, with fully customisable buttons.

Including accessibility options like rapid fire or toggle modes for various functions. If a boss gives you trouble, you can use the "Respawn at Boss" setting to make them easier to fight.
... and you can pet the snail!

Great game, but I got softlocked and had to start over which is really really annoying. during the part with the vanishing blocks, there is a secret on the left side. you can just barely make the jump. if you do, you will be softlocked out of the game
I dropped this in the endgame. I cannot recommend this. The primary reason is that it is directly competing with around 20 metroid zero mission and super metroid rom hacks that are better, bigger, and cost nothing. Lets go over positives and negatives: Positives: - It has a detailed map - Good Level design - It has everything that makes metroid games good, except the stuff mentioned below Negatives: - The character is way slower than Samus - The spider ball upgrade is unreliable and glitchy - Enemies and their projectives can travel between rooms, room transitions fail to handle them properly. It probably should have been like on the SNES where sprites freeze when they are off screen. - The first boss can get glitched out of its room, causing a softlock - Mediocre world design - no story - Many items show as unpicked even after picking them up - poor level design in the end, ended up dropping this in the endgame.

Mixed feelings. It's not terrible, but it can be quite difficult in places and navigation can be a bit cumbersome/tedious. My impression of Microvania is that it is a bit like Environmental Station Alpha at first, without the cool grappling hook. Or like the first few hours of Zexion before that game opens up and gets better. I feel very constrained and uncomfortable navigating my way around in this one. It's not necessarily a bad game, but I find it frustrating to play. Some of these boss encounters have been more annoying than anything, in some cases it appears that there is unavoidable damage. Things that would have made it more palatable for me: -The map could be a bit clearer/prettier -There are teleporter rooms, but they only teleport you to one other connected room, you can’t choose where to go like in most other metroidvanias, they’re just two-way pipes. -Some of the bosses can be pretty arduous to fight in ways I didn’t find fun, in some cases damage felt completely unavoidable (at least for the abilities I had at my disposal). This game isn't for the feint of heart and can be quite a test of patience and grit. It's not necessarily a terrible game, and if you are quite the determined player it is arguably worth the try given the cheap price, but It's outstayed its welcome for me. I'm sick of encountering bosses that seem to dish out unavoidable damage. If I'm being charitable, it's quite possible that I'm lacking abilities that the game wants me to have to make such damage avoidable, but for me that's pretty frustrating design.
It's not the worst metroidvania I've ever played, but something about the exploration, level design, and boss designs just feel more frustrating and miserable than fun. I keep trying to get myself to continue, but I have no desire to. I wish it was more rewarding, breezier, easier to navigate and would provide the feeling of some type of mastery over the challenges it presents. But 90% of the time, the reward is underwhelming and unclear as to where to go next. There is not many "a-ha!" moments like in the obvious competition Metroid, where you finally unlock an ability and know exactly where to go next - INTUITIVELY. Some metroidvania die-hards that love to get lost, love to see a million secrets that you have no idea how to access, and love extremely maze-like level design could enjoy this. Art, music, and character feel are all solid (except the extremely slow walking speed). But I guess it is just not for me,
It's very neat. Nothing that will change your perception of MetroidVania, but the bite-size and the speed at which you can unlock upgrades and mobility abilities gives it its own flavor.
An excellent, and challenging retro Metroidvania! I think it probably took me around 7-9 hours (I didn't pay a lot of attention while I was playing) to 100% it, but It would have been about 1 less if I had realized you could mark rooms in the map when I was collectable hunting. The game play is very solid, with a good amount abilities, and environments. I found movement with the analog stick a bit touchy, but once I switched to the D-Pad, I found the controls very tight. I found the level design very compelling with, a lot of variety and challenges, but my favorite thing would be all the hidden nooks, and shortcuts to discover. You'll find yourself backtracking a lot (like any Metroidvania) which can get a bit tiring. There is a sort of fast-travel which lets you travel from one fixed point in the game to another, but they never seemed to be in a convenient location for where I wanted to go, so I didn't find myself using them much. The game has 4 bosses, 2 of which I found brutally challenging, but one I was under geared for, and the other would have been much easier if I had realized you could swim through the lava. Great controller support (complete with xbox, ds4, and maybe other hint glyphs). Music and sound were immersive and very reminiscent of early meteoroid games to me. For proton users: I had some issues with controller and achievements didn't work with proton 8, but the game worked flawlessly for me with proton 9.
Fantastic bite-sized metroidvania. Wears its inspiration on its sleeve and the soundtrack is full of bangers. A little rough with the collision and hit boxes at times but the vibe remains intact. Replayability and potential for a solid speed game are there. Cheers!
Microvania is a simple retro 8 bits style metroidvania style game. The key part is to just keep exploring, there no indication on where you should go and how to gain access to other area but trial and error. The enemy/Bosses is not that hard to kill. This game does a great job of reintroducing the exploratory draw of the genre. It remains faithful to its predecessors while feeling fresh. I had a hard time putting it down.
