This game is such a gem. I love the art, narrative and that it's a genuinely fun game to play. The levels have a nice range of play ability; while they're not overtly easy, they aren't difficult to the extent that you stop playing. This is honestly such an underrated game and i'm glad I found it. Plus you get to play as a robot. ♪┌|∵|┘♪
A short and sweet platformer, with a good sense of humor and cute style. The option to change difficulty on the go made this game easy to pick up, and extend later on. I loved all the characters (literally), and wished there was more to explore, because the world was so fun. <3 P.S. Sorry to all the froggos. ;_;
It is what it says it is, a short and sweet metroidivania. It didn't do anything particularly earth shattering but I enjoyed it a good amount and am happy with my purchase.
An enjoyable little Micro-vania 95 minutes to 100% Has a proper map. ..Just be sure to go into options to enable autofiring. The first game; Spooky Ghosts Dot Com bounced right off of me 'in part' because it wasn't a single button press to open and close my map. Unlike that one, SJ-19 was smooth to play, and nothing about it felt lacking to a point of annoyance like most other short microvanias. Just a really enjoyable, solid example of this genre.
This is a fair Metroidvania. It doesn't really bring anything new to the table but the bosses are challenging and well designed, and the formula itself is always a good time. It's a 2 hour game, so get it on sale.
It's definitely short, I beat I beat it in a little more than an hour, but it's so damn good. Very fun, challenging bosses that never get frustrating, and a great story. Amazing soundtrack too.
Short but very sweet little game. Would recommend
An adorable little metroidvania.
Another short Metroidvania from Zertuk. Not quite as "mini" as Spooky Ghosts Dot Com, but still nowhere near a sprawling epic. There's also more of a plot focus this time, though progression rarely feels like the plot is the one forcing you, even if there's definitely more scripted events. There's only two abilities which gate other areas, which might be a bummer for hardcore genre fans, but exploration is rewarding with plenty of additional goodies to find, including a couple quality of life upgrades behind optional bosses. There's even various upgrades which give you choice between two different ones (and can be switched back) to theoretically have different builds, though I do think they're a bit slop sided towards one being clearly more useful than the other (haven't experiments so cannot full confirm, though). Again, it's not the most dense MV world, but nothing feels slapped together: it's even viable to run past a large amount of enemies if you wish rush the levels (sadly no reward for doing so). Boss battles are definitely a highlight, with all of them feeling like there was care put into their design rather than just "big bloke with tons of HP". Things can get slightly overwhelming due to the amount of elements you end up juggling in several of them as the fights and it's thus pretty hard to end most encounters unscathed, but eventually you make your way through. Dialogue is brief but charming. My two "complaints" are that there's a late game missable achievement and that the default keyboard setting makes no sense (seriously, who uses WASD and binds dash to 'Q'?).
This game is great, a fun little metroidvania with fantastic bosses and writing. Gonna make sure to check out whatever Zertuk works on next.
