Amazing
I especially enjoyed it in terms of difficulty; it came up with an idea about all the previous games.

This game is designed with one thing in mind, and that is to be as frustrating as possible! I don't know what they were going for when designing these terrible boss fights and also making it so that you get more debuffs each time you fight another boss and they continue to stack. If you recall the "sacrifice" to remove that particular debuff, then that boss respawns and you have to kill it again. You have to leave each sacrifice and get weaker after each boss fight to beat the game. Once again, this game is specifically designed to be difficult just for the sake of being frustrating. I don't recommend this game unless you just really want to test yourself. You may have a different experience than me but in my opinion, it does seem like some of the designs were made to be frustrating. Yes, soulslike games are usually hard but not just for the sake of being hard. I actually don't mind the debuff being added before the fight, but they stack for each boss fight. So by the time you're at the final boss, you're down on power, health, stamina, health potions, items that help buff your weapon and throwables, etc. So now you have the difficulty, plus your hands are tied behind your back. I feel like it would've been better to add the random debuff for each fight but once you beat the boss, you gain it back. Maybe I'm wrong and completely missed the point and this game just isn't for me. Some of the really good souls players might be better suited for this game. For the average souls enjoyer, prepared to be frustrated!
The good:
The feedback on hitting enemies feels satisfying and getting hit is clearly communicated. The movement feels good for the most part. Running is fast and rolling is effective.
The bad:
The game is really slow. The animations take ages to complete, you can't skip cut-scenes, the bosses keep attacking and you have a very small window to punish. Your attacks don't lead into one another unless it's the same type of attack. You did a light attack and you want to do a heavy as a follow-up or vice-versa? You gotta wait. You rolled out of an attack and you want to punish? You gotta wait. The silver lining is that there is a running light and heavy attack. The game is a series of boss-fights with no way to get stronger, and if I understood things right, having defeated a boss makes the other bosses harder because you have to keep your sacrifice in the stone in order to finish the game, meaning you're gonna have more and more debuffs and hard bosses will become even harder the more you put them off. When you successfully defeat a boss, you get a bit of max health, there is no progression other than that whatsoever.
The ugly:
You know that "ughhh" feeling you get when fighting some bosses in souls-borne games? The ones that you're glad to be over with and dread encountering on your next play-through, not because it was so hard to master but because it's kinda ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥? That's 3 out of the 5 bosses I tried defeating in this game. Most of them are really frustrating and it's not due to a lack of understanding, but due to a lot of mechanics being tied to random chance, or just plain annoying by design. Furthermore it is clear to me that the difficulty of the bosses were judged by the devs who already spent several hours fighting them while designing and testing, and who know exactly how each attack works and how it's meant to be dodged, so above some bosses or attacks being nothing more than a game of patience, you also have to know precisely how they work, and I could swear that even then, there are attacks that are guaranteed to hit you. Or at least feel like it. You get achievements for not dying to some attacks...
In conclusion:
I do not recommend playing this game. It is incredibly frustrating, and when you finally get through a boss it just becomes even more frustrating with nothing to keep you coming back, nothing to motivate you.
