It's not bad, but it is very unpolished. Also, given that the other game by this same dev is still in Early access despite being released in 2020, I am going to go out on a limb and say that this game is also unlikely to get many updates. It is over priced for what it is. At $5, I might give it a thumbs up but for $24, I am gonna have to say no. https://youtu.be/nlUFn58iRQ0
A terrible game that is really nothing more than empty maps cobbled together with Unreal Marketplace assets, The developer is also obviously a big-time "hothead" who can't take criticism in reviews of his game. His first and only Steam review was made by YouTube content creator 'English Teacher Plays'. This developer took out his frustrations on ETP by filing a "cease and desist" letter that he actually emailed to him (hilarious I know). This indie dev needs to understand that it is NOT ETPs fault that your game isn't selling. It's because anyone can see that your game is way over priced by simply looking at your trailer. You're also not the first indie developer to cobble together pretty Unreal assets on empty maps and try and ask far too much money for your 'asset cobbler' here on Steam! You guys can go and look at how hot headed this indie developer is and his hilarious and desperate attempt to try and bully English Teach Plays (ETP) into removing his review and video HERE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7JxwxrijI7c --------------------- PROBLEMS WITH THIS GAME: - A massive install size of nearly 27 GB - This game caused my PC to overheat and the fans to run excessively ($1,500 gaming PC) - No video or audio settings at all which is inexcusable for any game that asks a $20 price tag - Motion Blur galore that again cannot be turned off because of the lack of options - Enemy AI have terrible intelligence and can also shoot projectiles directly through stone walls - Maps are full of invisible walls and 2 min loading screens to new map areas - Challenge is created by dropping 40 mobs at you at once rather than actually making fun & interesting enemies to engage - Voiced lines as the game loads will over-lap each other and continue to play if you skip the content - Complete lack of any interesting story or reason as to why you are killing endless enemy assets over and over and over --------------------- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jHcBkskaQuk But again, the biggest problem is that this developer cannot take fair criticism of his game and that he has tried to bully a YouTuber into removing his review with a completely BOGUS 'cease and desist" letter. This is the exact reason why I came here to review this game. These developers just never seem to learn that trying to bully reviewers who don't like their game only backfires on them ten-fold. NOT RECOMMENDED. just more over-priced asset cobbled together trash filled with almost endless bugs and problems. Definitely not a "fun" game or worth the $20 asking price and the fact this developer tried to use scare tactics to remove fair criticism should make anyone avoid all of his games like the plague!
Overpriced base template game, that could have perhaps been something decent, had more time and focus gone into it. It looks okay but plays clunky. Animations are stilted, you can move as a corpse (when you die, your body can skate around the floor somehow) and fighting enemies in groups is very difficult, due to the game's overall jankiness. During a large battle, I got catapulted out of the map for no reason and landed in what I like to call the piss dimension. Everything was yellow and weird pumpkin things lined the skies. I actually liked this world more than the one that I'd left before, it had a lot of potential for a forbidden area. This isn't the kind of game that comes out of a lack of effort or passion, however, no amount of effort or passion means much, when you haven't put the time in to make it count for anything. Maybe with another year of development, this game could be something decent but as it stands, it's an overpriced base build that few people could enjoy. Given how many competent souls-likes there are, on Steam and how regular they're on sale, I'd recommend any of them (even something like Lords of the Fallen) over this, in its current state. The biggest insult of all is the actions of the developer. He's sent a cease and desist to a Youtube Content Creator, for daring to say anything negative about his game. A game that is flawed to hell and back. I'd like to think that this was just poor judgement, clouding an otherwise decent person's mind but I'd be weary, if you're planning to use this game for your Youtube content. You can see my experience, playing this game, for transparency's sake. https://youtu.be/XEetgzk_h4o I'll gladly change my review, if the game is improved, to the point that it is no longer valid.
I decided to give Requiem a chance, and I don't regret it. The game isn't completely polished yet, but I still managed to have fun. It was enjoyable to test out the different classes against the various enemies presented in the game. I felt a bit lost at the beginning, but it was easy to get the hang of it. There's no secret to it. The difficulty added a nice touch to keep me engaged. Some enemies attack in groups, making movement quite challenging, but I didn't get frustrated. I appreciated the fact that I didn't lose items after dying; I think that's a better approach. The class I had the most fun playing was the druid. It genuinely made me want to see how far I could get without dying. The game is entertaining, but as I mentioned, it hasn't reached its full potential yet. My experience has been positive up to this point.
The character and the map design are great. i tried almost all the characters and i liked the Engraver and the design of the char.
From the moment you step into the eerie world of "Requiem," you're enveloped by a sense of dread and foreboding. The game's dark and moody visuals, coupled with an unsettling soundtrack, create an immersive and unsettling atmosphere that never lets up.
This game is less off a Action RPG and more of a souls rogue like. I tried a couple classes and definitely have a fave. Pros: - You do NOT lose your stones when you die - Items drops are fairly generous - It is voice acted Cons: - There is NO tutorial - This feels like a very intro game - The game is VERY glitchy Honestly it's got the starting of a pretty decent game with some diablo vibes but in it's current stage I truly can not justify the price. I give it 3/7 playable characters.
I haven't played it much yet but from what I've played I really like it, the gameplay is good, the music is good and the fights feel really fun. I've made a lot of progress in the game but I'm more curious about the ending, I'll try to finish it as soon as possible.
That's it! It's a fun game, you can put tons of hours into this game, it might not be for everyone, but regardless you can do a lot in this game. A few things might not interact with other people and some other things might be annoying for some, but there's a lot of content here to beat and if you think you're going to like it, you're definitely going to like it!
-Works great, so much so that I didn't experience a single frame drop the entire time I played -Clean and the graphics look very good. -Good level designs. -Great enemy variety. -Great Boss designs and fights. -Good music. -great hit effects. If you want to spend hours full of suspense and action, this is the game for you.
