If your PC is hanging up when trying to start a game, try turning off HDR in windows, a dev worked with me to find this workaround for now.
I am looking forward to seeing where this game goes but as it stands right now its practically unplayable. It seems like it works fine either with a small city or might even have something to do with the speed setting you are using in the game. I played through a couple of different cities but once I got to the point I had say 15-20 zones the game would get very buggy and eventually the gui would just flip out. Showing random characters, menus not displaying, Images missing. Each time I would have to kill the game from steam. At first I could play for a while before it happened but like I said its seems like once the city got big It would happen within a few minutes of playing. I wish there was a rating system instead of just recommend or not because for fans of this type of game it might be worth spending the money to support the project and play around with but this is an early access game so if your looking for a finished product or in my experience a game that doesnt crash constantly this isnt the one. Pros a good throwback to games like the original Sim City When it worked it was fun Cons (Hopefully to be addressed as development progresses) Crashes constantly The content, building types etc are limited. The gui is buggy, for example trying to zoom in a single click sometimes zooms the game in as far as it will go. The management abilities are lacking
For the limited visual interface it takes up a lot of cpu. Also you can only play to a point and it says it's just a beta test.
This is a fun indie game that has a lot of classic city building features. The dev's are hard at work and adding updates constantly. I look forward to seeing how far they get on this one. If you want to see a very early version of the game, check out my let's video from back at release. https://youtu.be/wleeYVEcTz0 [table] [tr] [th]If you enjoyed my review join our steam group. This game is slow! Everything takes forever to happen, and making money requires leaving the game idling at max speed while doing something else aside. I just watched a 20min tv show, and I still don't have enough money to build back a house that got destroyed by fire. Either tweak the cash flow or the cost of public buildings. I have played idle games that were faster than this. Also, bugs, too many bugs. I have people who are unemployed, while business areas don't get built. People live right in front of a school but complain they live too far from it... Considering low happiness can lead to a game over, that's not good.
It's laggy, achievements are bugged, takes forever to grow a city. It just released so things could change and I'll update my review when I try it again in the future, but as it stands, this is pretty low on my list of city builders.

Although the tutorial is riddled with some spelling errors and can feel like a slow beginning, as soon as I entered the Classic Mode I was charmed by the game, especially the quest feature implemented that allowed my city to make requests to me, which made my run significantly more fun. I look forward to seeing how much Silicon City will evolve throughout its Early Access period.
I really enjoy this game! The perfect amount of challenge while still being great fun and just a little bit mindless since I play to relax and not to create more work for myself. I look forward to the next evolution of this game!
Nice idea, however progress is really slow which makes the game an idle game instead of actually having to do something. Updates are nonexistent anymore, no surprise if the devs discontinued the game.
