Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

EVOLVE WITH EACH AGE OR STAND THE TEST OF TIME
Lead your empire through distinct Ages of human history. Across the Antiquity, Exploration, and Modern Ages, choose whether to lead one Time-Tested civilization from start to finish, have it strategically evolve to flourish with a new identity in the next Age, or split the difference through hybridization. As accomplishing scientific, cultural, militaristic, and economic milestones within each Age unlocks advantages in the next, you'll decide how and when your empire's identity and strategy develop.
CHART YOUR OWN PATH TO VICTORY
Shape your empire's unique story by pursuing a wide range of distinct Triumphs, attribute-based objectives that offer a player-driven experience. As each new Age expands the game's scope, it also brings opportunities to borrow elements from other civs, unlock new bonuses, and achieve Victory in myriad new and exciting ways. Order Commanders to move armies as one, engage enemies with revamped combat mechanics, equip swappable leader bonuses across campaigns with Mementos, and much more.
PLAY AS VISIONARY LEADERS OF PROGRESS
Embody illustrious leaders with one of Civilization's most diverse rosters yet, from traditional heads of state known for militaristic might or political prowess to visionaries who made lasting impacts on philosophy, science, human rights, and more. Your chosen leader will endure across the Ages, with a unique ability that can help reinforce or pivot your strategy from one Age into the next. For the first time in franchise history, leader selection is separate from your civilization, giving you the freedom to create all-new strategies by mixing and matching gameplay bonuses.
EXPLORE A WORLD VIVIDLY BROUGHT TO LIFE
Make your mark on a gorgeously detailed world! Your empire comes to life with a diverse range of cultural styles, represented across building architecture and Unit design. Traverse navigable rivers, explore the map's undiscovered reaches, and extend your borders with new Cities or specialized Towns. Up to eight players supported in the Modern Age. Map size restrictions may apply to certain cross-play multiplayer games. Terms apply.

Reviews
Even with the update, still 6 > 7.
Massively regret buying it, terrible value DLC, confusing and annoying civilisation switches, and for some weird reason it has kernel level anti cheat to prevent you from editing anything in your single player games. Just all around terrible decisions that nobody asked for.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 21: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Of the 6 markets with a position on both sides, 4 climbed and 2 fell. The same sale, the same day, opposite directions — which is why nothing here is averaged into a single arrow, and why one sale is not a trend.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

it is inferior to civ 6 in every aspect except the graphics
I purchased the whole package back at the start but after the latest update I can no longer play it because my PC is no longer powerful enough to run the game. So they have made changes so that the game I purchased I can no longer play. The reply I got is below but it is essentially "tough sh*t looser". "I know how it must feel to find that the game has been crashing after the latest update and is no longer playable on a system that previously ran it, and I appreciate you sharing the screenshot. Let's see what I can do to help. After taking a look at your PC's specifications from the screenshot, it appears that your setup doesn't meet the minimum requirements. For more information on the minimum and recommended specs for running Civilization VII on PC, check out this guide. I understand this isn’t ideal, and I appreciate you taking the time to reach out." I wont be buying any of their games in future.
Having played Civ games for years and years now, from way back in the day, I really wanted to love this version of the series. Alas, I can't even begin to like it. I played 34 hours and can say without a doubt, that IMO, this is the worst Civ of all. No matter what path I follow, the AI is always ahead of me on everything. I can not catch up in most cases, and even though I've been playing on Scribe, somehow, if I see the AI getting too far ahead, and have no choice but to start a war to slow their advance, they always have an endless supply of troops that magically appear out of nowhere to overrun my troops. Same goes for Independent states. I toggle the start to Friendly, but if I settle a town near them, they attack relentlessly with unlimited amounts of troops until my city is destroyed. No rhyme or reason to the hostility, just attacks. I also don't like that there's no way to set victory conditions. Like in Civ 6, for instance, you can uncheck all the victory conditions save say domination or science. Here you can't do that. So while you're busy trying for an economic victory, the AI just builds all science buildings and suddenly you lose. The array of weaponry is meager. Even if you make it to the modern age, I could not figure out how to use the planes I was building to attack a neighboring civ. Nor, as a last ditch attempt to keep from being overrun, using nukes to stop their never ending hordes. This version feels like they tried too hard to copy Humanity and other games that came out using this format. They should have stayed true to form. I'm pretty sure I might try another couple of goes at this, but I can easily see myself uninstalling this one and going back to an earlier version of the game.
Even the 120$ Settlers Edition doesn't include any kind of Season Pass like previous Civ Games, so you have to buy each overpriced new DLC if you want them. Firaxis somehow standardized and simplifyed the winning conditions so now every playthrough feels more or less the same.
Meta progression? Absolutely horrible boxy, bland, brown UI? Confusing changes to gameplay, especially to city building - needing to drop gold on new settlements to turn them into cities else they can't use production? No British civs or leaders? I got as far as needing to assign resources to settlements for bonuses before giving up..
Feel a bit scammed, was charged full price for an incomplete game... no modern military, oversimplified politics and game play. Should have just remastered Civ Vi.
It just doens't have the 'One More Turn' element that the other Civilizations all had. This game is a snoozefest for me. And there are basic concepts that they just decided to get rid of, like allowing players to build their own roads. That one is criminal in my opinion.
If you expect a Civ3/4/5 gameplay, just pass. Don't waste your time and money. Wait for another two, or I don't know how many years, of these pitiful kindergarten-oriented sequels, until these folks realize that they took the wrong turn. It's not a strategy. It's not a Civilization. Boring, linear and thoughtless gameplay. Pure disappointment. Play Civ5 and hope for the bright future (this is not it, 4sure),
