Very good strategy game, my favorite of the series.

Its an addictive game.

half hearted recommendation. it's very easy to get into, one of the biggest things that pushed me into history and genuinely being interested in the world at a young age. still the game's only compelling before you've snowballed past all of the npc's, which is usually around the medieval era (1/3rd into the game) if you're playing emperor or below. because of this you're forced into immortal or deity if you want a genuinely interesting game, but the ai bonuses feel incredibly unfair and limit a lot of fun strategies. this makes the best way to play civ v with and against your friends, but it's almost impossible to find a skill balance between everyone, and the games are heavily weighted on how good your starting location is, making it feel more like playing musical chairs than a strategy game. and online multiplayer is a nightmare, lobbies filled with either cheaters, modded out sweats, or both. needless to say, if you want a strategy game, this is one you begin with and try not to stick with. it's simple and fun, until it isn't. Strong 6/10

This game destroyed my life but it's very addicting.
