it's kinda like mario
I completed all the games except Showdown which I haven't got a chance to try yet. I really like the level of care that went in story details and how they relate to the intertwined stories. Each playable character feels very unique and satisfying to play and the story was pretty engaging, well complemented by the gorgeous artwork. The levels can be a little frustrating at times, but they don't feel unfair and it's usually a required level of execution on the player. If you that sound like something you would enjoy, then you should buy this game and play them in chronological order to get what feels like the intended evolution of the story and mechanics.
Game's pretty cool, but plague of shadows needs to be available outside of this version in some way
все длс кроме чумного рыцаря хороши
it's just frustrating for no reason the mechanics is clunky and horrible, it used to be accepted in the era of NES or something but 2014 game? nope also annoying music as hell, i loved retro theme and soundtrack but in this? it's just annoying bosses seems ridicules judging by the first two ones, they have stupid move sets refund it before regretting..
specter knight goat, eu sou literalmente ele
A true indie darling! The Stories are all light hearted with some really funny writing that leads to a really engaging time for a more intense and old school experience. The characters all have really well written dialog and are all entertaining in their own way. The Settings are all so well realised and I love how each area has its own unique gimmick to keep things fresh and challenging rather than multiple levels being in the same biome. Visually, its gorgeous. Performance was solid throughout and I didn't run into any bugs or glitches. I also played this on the steam deck and for what the game is going for, I think that handheld is perfect for a game like this. The Art Direction is a throwback to NES and SNES pixel art whilst being its own thing and it masters that balance perfectly. Sound and Audio add to the throwback vibes with the soundtrack having some really memorable track and the audio really enhancing the retro feel. In terms of Gameplay, there is so much on offer and it all feels just right whilst innovating on older ideas. I want to keep this short as this is a collection of 5 games if you include the showdown stuff. The best of the bunch is Spectre of Torment which feels like the perfect combination of platforming and difficulty, followed by the original release of Shovel of Hope which is so solid with all its ideas and is a great time. King of Cards would be 3rd with it feeling more like warrioland and having a really cool card game that the team made and the last would be Plague of Shadows as while it is fun and I appreciate the difference in gameplay, the levels are a let down with it literally being an exact copy of the Shovel of Hope levels. I haven't played a lot of showdown, but its very clear that its a great time with friends if you want a platform fighter. Overall, Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove is an icon of the indie scene and its very clear to see why. What Yacht Club Games made is a true show of passion and love for the medium and games of old that anyone can enjoy!
