Simple but fun
Very fun game, don't play on the higher days. The first few days have very nice balance and you can get into a very fun rhythm with your attacks and the challenge of it. Starting at around day 5 though the difficulty stops increasing in manageable ways, and you will frequently encounter situations where there is literally no way to avoid taking damage or dying, regardless of your skill or tactics. Still, a very lovely challenge on days 1-4.
One of the most underrated roguelikes ever , have over 40hours on switch and its a blast everytime i play .
This is a roguelike that legitimately wants you to win and it wants you to always feel like a badass while doing so. Despite the progression with added difficulty feeling samey, even with a roster of custom characters, playing with different decks, a lot of new moves and techniques even a little story padding to keep the fantasy I keep coming back to this game because its just so cool. Makes you feel like you're in a retro 90's kung-fu movie when you get a deck that really works, makes you feel like a badass when you learn the hidden mechanincs like where enemies are most likely to spawn, how to trick enemies into hitting one another, the music is fantastic its just a well made game that knows what it is and fully commits to making that the selling point.
✅ Fun gameplay ✅ Strategic turn-based combat ✅ Very challenging rogue-like game ✅ Charming artystyle ✅ Highly replayable with a lot of unlockables ❌ Mistakes are very punishing - needed a rewind/undo move turn system ❌ Can't see detail of enemy tile
Super easy to get into and a great rogue like. It is a card builder and you can create pretty cool synergies between cards and abilities. Each run takes about 45-60 min. This is my cozy game at the moment and works great on my handheld PC.
Fantastic run-based game with turn-based combat that feels very puzzle-like in the way that you are planning and managing the space of the battlefield. The game feels like a deadly, elegant ballet, especially when you plan a perfect set of moves where you dodge and teleport around the battlefield and take out a bunch of enemies at once. Every run involves building up what is essentially a small deck of tiles that you can make improvements to as you go, as well as accruing perks and consumable items at shops. It's nice that all of your tiles are always available (except for the cooldown period after use), so you aren't at the mercy of the RNG of drawing the right card, and you know exactly when everything will be ready to use again. As the player, you have *almost* perfect information to work with (especially once you know how all the different types of enemies operate), the only notable exception being how/what enemies spawn in every wave. The game does give a minor heads up when enemies are about to appear, and you'll ideally want to make sure you have as many tiles off cooldown and not be somewhere where you could potentially be cornered. This has never been a huge issue so far in my playtime (have beaten day 3 with a few of the characters), occasionally having to take a point or two of damage from an inopportune spawn, but I've never had it be a run-ender. Any time a run has ended prematurely, it's because I wasn't paying close enough attention for a minute, planned poorly, and taken a fatal hit that I could have avoided. Presentation-wise, the art and animations are great, and the music is surprisingly excellent too. All the information you need on any given turn is easy to read at a glance. Love this game, I've found it quite addictive. That's driven by a great balance of being easy to pick up and play, but deceptively complex and challenging. It's streamlined where it counts, while still having mechanical depth to it. Even the meta-game piece in between runs is pretty straightforward; you get currency for playing the game that you can use to unlock new tiles and skills. I still haven't unlocked everything yet, but the pace of unlocks has been solid and most of the new weapons and skills have been interesting to try out on subsequent runs.
I wasn't immediately sold on this game, but it's surprised me at every step with good music, cool art (even if it's rather simplistic), and a combat system that is surprisingly deep and varied despite being quite limited on the surface. I thought runs would start to feel same-y over time, but because you can choose to prioritize between going fast, making fewer moves, or taking less damage, your decision making can vary greatly from run to run, character to character, and that's really where the replayability stems from. Combat is more of a puzzle to solve rather than a test of your build's strength. If that in combination with everything else I said is enticing to you, this is 100% a game for you!
很棒的机制,肉鸽卡牌又一力作。玩起来总想起《陷阵之志》
Stylish art and cool music. Fun, puzzle-like tactical gameplay.
