She Mega-ming on my Tensei until I V: Vengeance

Ass Beating Experience....10/10
Not perfect. FAR from it. Still, at some point it really hooked me, so I wanted to at least reach the end and beat one of the superbosses (the nostalgic one,
from that other game
). I soon found out that it would take A LOT of commitment. I was hoping to be done with this game in just a few quick jogs, but once I reached the final stretch it turned into a full blown marathon. I'd call it a difficulty spike, but to be honest it could've been that I'd reached a point in the game where planning and developing a strategy became mandatory (it was the first seemingly "final" boss, aka
Tiamat
). After it was finally over I sat there for a solid minute. It didn't change my worldview or anything, but it sorta made me care about it. So here we are. Story sucks until the big obvious twist, then not so much, then it really doesn't matter. It's funny how your character has no agency whatsoever, but every single npc you meet wants to suck you off. Traversal is occasionally cool, but otherwise a massive pain. The systems are definitely the highlight for me. The way they all seamlessly blend together kept me in after I almost dropped the game during a forced story section early on (
the school
). Combined with all the interactions with your demons they really make this a high quality rpg to experience. 8/10 Pretty sure I'll NEVER come back for the other endings, but I feel some remorse in not going for one other superboss who i don't even know how to find (
Masakado
) so who knows. I'd rather 100% this game than Expedition 33 if that means anything. k bye.
i have one thing to say, HEE ♥♥♥♥♥♥ HOO
One of the best games I've ever played. The amount of depth and character in this game is astounding. There's so much charm throughout the story from the side quests to the random character dialogue. While the story isn't the most in-depth, it's adequate enough and is carried by the gameplay. This gameplay is so addicting. I've played this game off and on since December of 2025. I haven't even completed the game yet and I've already put in about 60 hours. The biggest regret I have with this game is not starting it sooner. I completely understand why Atlus is so cherished by millions of fans. SMT may not be as popular as Persona but damn that gameplay loop is so damn potent. Here's to another 20 hours of superb gameplay!
The story fell through for me in the second arc. To much forced exposition and letting the evil guy monologue while I, the player, stand there just off screen and let it happen. It ruins immersion and highlights that this is a story and we need X to happen for us to get to the next part. They COULD have done the same without having my character stand just outside arms reach and watch it all happen without moving...
Best game I've played (Jrpg/turned based combat) style wise in a very long time.
