Took me a while to get my feelings straight, at the end of the day Shadwen is a game with a lot of potential that was squandered. It has interesting mechanics, as each level is a puzzle for a well designed escort system. The story is told through background dialogue and the game gives concequences for killing or sparing people, and more interesting if your ward sees the bodies or not matters more. But with all that said: its yanky, and rough, not quite executing any of these things that well, ending up feeling a bit incomplete.
Unedited Gameplay Here: https://youtu.be/eoQgD3vaXvs Shadwen is a pretty underated unique stealth game that for sure has some indie jank, but if you can look past that there's a really good time here! You have 2 interesting mechanics to play with, a Rewind system that lets you rewind time as much as you want, completely unrestricted, and a girl named Lily that you need to help navigate through the levels, the catch is that you can't let her see you kill anyone. It's an interesting take on the Dishonored method for not allowing you to kill just everyone. You have to think outside of the box quite a bit and if you do chose to kill, you have to quickly hide the bodies so she doesn't see. The game also has a fully voice acted story (which admittedly is pretty weak), and guards that chatter amongst themselves providing lore into the world. I was honestly surprised how immersed I was getting in some of these levels. The game isn't perfect, it definitely has an indie feel to it at times, and the story is almost non-existent, but considering it often goes on sale for less than $5, I think it's a no-brainer if you like stealth games. I'd guess based on my current progression the game is around 4-5 hours long, I wouldn't play full price for it personally, but on a sale I can't recommend it enough!

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Sort of... its ok even with a lot of whys in the game. A little more story would have spiced up the sneaky time control mechanics. Some parts require a lot of patience because the kid does not find the way. But some parts and the overall atmosphere are cool. 3 of 5 points for people who like stealth games.
The game is decent, grappling is neat, because of the ability to rollback time an infinite amount there are absolutely 0 stakes so its more of a chill experience for a stealth game, many people seem to complete a playthrough in around 10 hours but it took 10 hours to 100% the game, they have escape levels at the end which allow you to basically play the game in reverse if your interested in that (I was not).
I don't have much good to say about this game unfortunately. Context: I played it fully pacifist all the way through. Getting the good out of the way: - Level design (aesthetically/structurely speaking, not gameplay wise speaking) - The grappling hook feels quite satisfying to use The parts I disliked: - The story is so loose and I found it difficult to be captivated by, the discussions between the main character and Lily predominantly occur between levels, the rest of the story is told through conversation amongst the guards - The gadgets feel unnecessary, there was never a time where I was like "I wish I had a tool to help me with this" because the grappling hook alone was enough, they just seemed there to help, but even then the resouces to craft them felt scarce - I also had an audio bug where after maybe 45 mins of playing suddenly I'd only be able to hear dialogue and nothing else from the game - All of those compound to make it feel as though every level I'm playing is the same task/problem and effectively playing the same level 15 times. There was so much potential here that it feels so wasted because the structures of the levels were actually interesting. - Also the amount of time I had to spend just spam pinging for where Lily needs to go when it's a window the guards aren't looking just made it so annoying whenever she had to go back and forth over and over. Overall, I think this game would've been fun for it's time, but I don't think it held up well enough for me.
