This is a BIG game. SGS/Avalon just keeps getting better and refining their craft, and Fall Weiss is a lot of fun. I'm a student of this campaign, and without losing playability, they've packed in a ton of history. I give this my highest rating.
I thought: how many invasions of Poland games or scenarios do we need? There have been a few, with a pretty predictable outcome. I was wrong. I've learned more about Fall Weiss in this SGS game than I had ever discovered in previous Case White games and scenarios. More on the OOBs. Way more on the air power OOBs of both sides. And vastly more in-depth info and what might be called 'story-telling' about September 1939. The card-play really shines in this game, with regard to the story telling. In addition there's the usual SGS excellence with the map and map-modes. Plus there's a leadership/HQ command and control feature that is much expanded in scope. I have very much enjoyed the experience, highly recommend the game.

SGS Fall Weiss is a war game with a challenging premise. Stop the German Blitzkrieg of Poland in 1939! This is a very interesting campaign with the usual historical accuracy and great game play of an SGS title. A few more scenarios to be added and some bugs to be fixed but overall an excellent game.
On September 1, 1939, Germany did NOT declare war on Poland - it was just an ordinary bandit attack! Fix this newspaper headline!
Great graphic art creates a great atmosphere. Game hangs at times. Not bothered by the paucity of scenarios at all for the price of admission; more are promised and there are variations to the main scenario. Be sure to read the notes specific to this game. WW2 Norway and France and the Balkans are indicated to be in the development pipeline and there are new features to this game which will be carried forward. Overall I am happy with this game and although I am still playing my first game of Stalingrad I am glad I added this new game to my roster so soon. After reading the notes I couldn't resist. Cannot comment on the AI yet. This is an early look.
If the manual and "rules" section were not so frustrating, their utter inadequacy at explaining how the game plays and what to do would be laughable. But the rest of the game is interesting, as other reviewers say, in that weird unconventional way that SSG has always preferred to do things.
I can't even play the game without it locking up and when I try to exit out it won't even crash to the desktop I have to hard restart my entire computer because I can't even control alt delete out of it. Ridiculous I spent over 50 dollars on two of these sgs games only for it to do this.
Buggy and unplayable. Game went to turn 45+ never ending even though I had over 400+ points and held the key cities well before while Poland had 0 points. It never ended and re-enforcements and card use stopped after turn 19. Some Soviet Union units got stuck on the wrong side of the border and can't move. Many units are stuck and can't more and can't re-enforce either. There were other bugs too like two Polish infantry constantly winning against a very large army of 10+ units with tanks plus airpower even after being encircled and being attacking repeatedly.
A simple but deep and really fun game. If the UI were improved and there were fewer glitches, it would be a 10/10.
