The game would've been mediocre at best, if not for the netcode. Even within Europe, the lag is horrid, the hitreg practically non-existant and the players keep rubber-banding. There's also various weird lighting issues, especially in the boss areas; the lighting seems to either not load or force itself to full-bright, which is very jarring, especially when you transition from the pre-rendered cutscenes to the actual game. I've tried the playtests, and to be quite honest, the game does not differ much from that stage. It feels like an early-access beta at best. Hopefully they can fix most of these, but I can't really recommend it as of right now.
Very fun serious Sam games not as much jank as usual and fun gameplay as usual. fun coop shooter

People are being very critical over what ultimately is a fun Rogue Like Sam game that just needs a few updates
Unfortunately, I can't recommend this game just yet. I have a few issues with it. For example, the visual style doesn't really work for all of the enemies (although, to be fair, that's actually one of the more tolerable problems). I'm just being a grumpy fan of the series — which I absolutely am. I don't like the system where you have to unlock weapons using a currency that you have to grind for. Yes, the grind is pretty easy, but it still feels like an artificial way of keeping the player engaged with the game. A full weapon pool + randomness — that's what I expect from a roguelike shooter. This is definitely Serious Sam, and at least it's not overly casual. But some of the roguelike conventions actually hurt the game because of a few questionable lvl-design decisions. For example, the upgrades give you such tiny stat increases. Some people complained about Deep rock galactic Rogue Core, but personally, I think the upgrades there actually have a noticeable impact on gameplay. Here... not so much. I think the game could be saved by some rebalancing. For example, make the full weapon pool part of the base game. Why not have more chaos and stressed moments) More random enemy encounters and more weapons available in every act? And make the upgrades more impactful. You don't even need to redesign them — just increase their stats by at least a third, because right now you're getting some truly pathetic little bonuses. But... I can see the potential.) Some of the guns have nice impact. The game plays like a Serious Sam game, and that's... fun. I also really liked the character dialogue, lore stuff, and the way weapons from the pre-HD era — from before the HD re-releases — have been reworked with more detailed textures. They manage to feel both nostalgic and fresh at the same time. I also really like the idea of having different Sams in co-op, good work! You should release updates every couple of months with balance changes, fixes for the more questionable design choices, and maybe eventually add another two or three playable characters. You did a great job capturing the personalities of the different Sams, and that's worth praising. Haha, I'm waiting for the washed-up Sam, "Gennady Bukin" from the fourth "Sam", the absolutely brutal Gigachad Sam from the third "Sam" in the spirit of games from that era, and, of course, Sam from the Serious Sam 2 — a legend among legends! I feel like both thanking you and barking at you, developers. Either way, as a fan of roguelike shooters and Serious Sam, this game is going to keep me hooked pretty much...

Fun, wish more people played. Great Rogue-like. Enjoying every second and tons to do! Def a must buy especially for the cheap price of 20 bucks. Def worth the money!
